He's a very special footballer. I just hope his next move is the right one for him because his ceiling is so high.

Had a conversation around that last week....which involved the phrase "I'm not saying that he's Danny Drinkwater....".
What are you seeing from an attributes, and components of his game that are not yet developed, point of view that makes you think he can be better than he currently is? For me he works hard, is clever (in terms of body position on the ball and reading the game), and has clearly applied himself to maximising what he has. From a physical attributes, or current skill set, perspective I'm not sure where I see massive growth potential.
I think I would consider that the 'next sale' might easily be the one where he has the major premium on his price. I'm not sure that he would have had the opportunity to develop as he has with competition from stronger athletes, and I'm not sure that he would constantly get into an elite side and progress further where that's a daily reality.
However, I would not be at all surprised if he proved me wrong. Again.
Did Danny Drinkwater look perfectly at home when he first pulled on an England shirt and nail down a place? I think that is a comparison with the wrong Leicester player, the most obvious similarity is with Ngolo Kante who was 24 when he went to Leicester and who did develop further at Chelsea. In that position it's a lot about developing positional awareness. He is already leading the Premiership for 'duals won' by a mile. I know with how we play he will be involved in more duals than the top teams centre mids but still impressive.
Drinkwater had one good season in a title winning side by hitting the ball through for Vardy to score. Anderson has got better and better over two seasons in a fairly average side amongst the chaos of 4 mangers. And has looked at home for England and looks a starter for the World Cup. But I do also think he’ll perhaps be at his premium price wise in the summer.
Yes, my point was simply that - to my eye - Anderson has now shown across two full seasons in our midfield (including during this shitshow of a campaign) that he is playing in a team below his own level.
I've no idea of his ability to continue to improve from here - nobody is - as much will depend on opportunity and lack of serious injury, but he is demonstrably ready to move on to a bigger club. Shame for us, but good luck to him.
The question for Anderson is whether he can still stand out in a team that has the ball for most of the game. The fact he's settled so quickly for England suggests he can but they are obviously usually playing opposition several levels beneath them. He's really good at keeping the ball under pressure, which will count in his favour, and is a decent (not exceptional) passer, which is a question mark.
Rodri's goals in each season he's played for Man City: 3, 2, 7, 2, 8, 0, 1.
Presuming the zero relates the entire season he missed with his knee injury.
Well if it was the 8 he’s even better than I thought
Got Porto tickets for me and my youngest - it was Core members who have been to at least one europa home game today. Seem to be selling pretty well.
Neco starts for Wales annoyingly..
Ando got a bit of whack at the end there. Think he looked ok though. Shame he played the full 90.
Suspended for Porto isn't he? Plenty of time to recover for Villa.
I can't believe any of you are watching any game other Bosnia v Italy.
