Billy does seem to enjoy the back and forth

Very much. I tried to kind of close the discussion down a few emails ago as I knew it was pointless, with points such as "Anyway, thanks for the reply, I realise you can't please everyone" etc but he just comes right back with screenshots of my purchase history saying I didn't even go to a game pre 2022 etc - prompting me to fish out my old client ref numbers and quote the years I had season tickets etc. Which I knew was totally pointless but his reply was quite antagonistic when it would have been easy just to leave it.

Does Billy run the ticket office and ticket distribution policy? Because if not, I would share an old sales maxim with you: "never waste time negotiating with someone who is only authorized to say no".

The goal 'might' have been, but a large number of the decisions overall were crap or bent.

Like our centre forward doing the imaginary card thing or studding Phil Foden’s knee?

Honestly not quite sure what his role is other than replying to emails, which he does seem very fast at.

You will note that just being crap is one of my possible interpretations.

He's head of ticketing so you'd think he'd have some power. But I don't think a single off-field decision is made Trentside by anyone except the big Greek
(certainly that was Billy's defence in our "dispute", that the board hadn't made a decision yet).

While looking back though emails I found a similar exchange I had with them over Derby away tickets in January 2010. Seems it was done via a paper application form (!) and supporters were called the day before the game to be told if there were successful in their application for a ticket. My beef was that telling me 24 hours before the game was shit when I had to make travel arrangements to get there from London.

Edit: seems it was this game. Honestly can't recall if I went in the end or not. www.espn.co.uk/football/match/_/gameId/268428/nottingham-forest-derby-county .

I’d tell you to stop arguing with a webmong, but then someone is probably telling Billy the same thing.

The customer service bloke, Will, also loves to keep going long after it could have finished. He even started following me on twatter after I’d made a comment about poor service. I assume he wanted me to follow back so he could DM me but I couldn’t be bothered to go through it all again for the same unhelpful response.

You aren’t going to get your well paid gig in the Middle East if your start disallowing goals for clear fouls like that.

Smart analysis (or you've been paying attention). If you don't understand something in football: think about the money.

The lack of second yellow still baffles me. Apparently it was accidental not intentional.

Is that a rule that accidental fouls don't get yellow cards? And how do we ascertain accidental versus just very clever?

Exactly. If someone accidentally trips someone up in the box through on goal you can guarantee it's a penalty.

The goal was a goal, correctly officiated. The second yellow certainly has an argument but then so do the Jesus incidents, which I'm guessing we haven't raised in our letter. Is there a general bias towards big clubs? I can't prove it but I can absolutely believe it is there, and always has been. I also imagine a vociferous home crowd creates some bias in decision making. There is also a lot of attempting to con referees from all clubs, including ours, and that and all the whining isn't helping them do a good job.
