I don't buy this we don't need extra capacity cobblers though, it's a myth perpetuated by long term season ticket holders like Simon to make themselves feel special. We'd clear another 5,000 season tickets tomorrow if they were available.

Obviously we do need extra capacity but the target should be somewhere in the 36,000-38,000 range. It's more that the club needs to be a bit more realistic about how much tickets are actually worth. And that if they add another 15,000 seats, the value of an individual ticket will reduced hugely if they want to sell them all. Which is probably no bad thing but I'm not convinced they see it that way.

As a commercial organisation they want capacity (stock) that gives them the flexibility to produce a range to their product offering, and maximise their income. If they have extra capacity, they can have their normal bread and butter, and maximise pricing at the prawn sandwich end of their market.....and maximise the cost of bread and butter...make it a bit more artisan (same ingredients, same cooking process, same smear of congealed fat).

As a business it's what you do. If the brand is strong, and the consumer loyalty is high, you have a lot more scope for demand level pricing, and the momentum associated with product acceptance (over objective quality/cost). There will be casualties, but it's nothing personal (it's only business).

It's quite interesting to observe the tipping point between brand loyalty, and seeking a better value, more accessible, functional product.

    I tipped.

I think the crux is the ticket price. If they were still £30-£35 for the majority of games we'd be easily selling out. I think most people that go can swallow that price, even if we're not doing well and the atmosphere is shit. But when it's £55+, that extra £20 really starts to bite. A trip to watch a Forest game for me is now pretty much £50 ticket ish, £15 train ish, £20 on beers and snacks etc. It can easily be north of £100. Plus the increased number of matches means you might 'need' to go three times a month. Couple this with almost eery game is now on TV, so can easily just watch it at home. Anyway, yadda yadda. I am going a bit less. I have skipped 3 home games so that I could afford Seville for example.

FWIW the demand is still there for premier league. A bit slower but still sell out well before the day.

Lots of fans aren’t interested in the European competitions, Villa Park had loads of empty seats the other night. I think the pricing is just badly wrong.

Predictable rumour that City want Anderson. Laughably rates him at £75M when the reference point has to be Caicedo, who cost £110M.

I'd have to know what his contract and clauses look like to decide what I'd sell him for.

But it would be less than most of you, and I wouldn't be against a January deal.

But how much do we really care once we’ve sold him (or any other player)

Not too many tickets left for Porto now, it will be a sell out.

I just came to express similar displeasure.

    This decline is steep.

Surprised they are not being offered in a presentation case, with a glass and a nice(ha!) 125ml bottle of port, at an extortionate price.

I was trying to work out why a lot of the merch was sponsored by Huel. Then I realised it was #uel. Still took a few moments.
