We do have a new Dubai property investment partner - finally, I mean how have we managed without one for so long? - so you could be right.

The good news is that every delay makes it more likely that move will happen after I stop going regularly (or, ideally, at all).

It will when we re-locate the new ground to Dubai.

Would be a relief in many ways and would save me a fortune.

Yes it’s taken an age to get where we are, but to me the club are serious. No way are they spending the money they are on architects etc if it was something they didn’t want to do.

More Danny Taylor on the new new plans for the stadium: archive.is/tbvTr

If the plans are changing again, doesn't that reset the whole planning process? This is never going to happen. Which I'm pretty relaxed about.

Yes and no. It will need a new application, but much of the previous sticking points (the boathouse) have now been resolved and the agreements carried over to the new application, which should shorten timescales significantly.

It's not unusual in the world of planning to get permission for something and then come back with something bigger. The test for the Council in any new application will be to assess it against the "fall back" position of the permitted scheme. So, is that additional 20m above the permitted scheme so detrimental that they should refuse it.

We spent 7 trillion quid keeping Harry Arter in clean pants, £480+vat on some shonkey AI mock up isn't really going to touch the sides.

In the pub last night we did a thing about which footballer's career you would most like to have...based on all factors - stress, scrutiny, hangers on, exposure...taking everything in the round.

    H. Arter esq. was my choice.

There's half a chance that the city ground gets developed. If the owner gets an opportunity to build a monument to himself, there's half a chance that happens instead.

Obviously the correct choice is Cristiano Ronaldo. Being one of the greatest in history, rich beyond your wildest dreams, and banging supermodels. Why would anyone choose being a reasonably well off punchline over that?

Cos he seems a bit of a twat? Though I guess if it's you as you with just his career that's moot.

If I'm going to be a twat it's better to be a rich handsome one than this poor average schmuck, yes.

Ronaldo works too hard. His fitness regime must be mental. Arter was living the dream with his feet up.

Also why is he a twat? What has he done that makes you think that way, other than driving supercars, banging supermodels, being better at his job than any of us could ever hope to be no matter how essentially meaningless his job might be, and being constantly in the media because of those things? I can't think of a single thing he's actually done to offend me other than not play for Forest.

I've spent the last 30 years telling every dickhead who's ever tried to have the "best player ever" argument that they're an idiot for choosing Messi because I saw Maradona, but I'm willing to listen to arguments for Pele because I never watched him. I think I might have been wrong though. Maradona gave us a couple of moments that no one has eclipsed, but I think Ronaldo might in the end be the best player I've ever seen when you look at the totality of his career, and as far as I can tell he's done it with class and decency while also enjoying the absolute fuck out of it.

Yeah, I'm going to be Ronaldo ahead of Arter.

Yeah, I'm going to be Ronaldo ahead of Arter.

I mean we'd never know what kind of a person he is because his image will be controlled by the $$$. They'd squash any negative press in seconds. I prefer to err on the side of caution when judging any rich powerful men, and assume they are twats. I suspect I would be correct 99% of the time.

All the surrogate kids thing was pretty weird too.

Obviously Arter could be a massive bellend too.
