There’s one of those schemes over here and basically anyone who employs a couple of software developers can get PwC or the likes to put a claim together. It’s all in plain sight of the tax office and government.. who don’t really care because it’s a way to give companies a tax break whilst presenting it as ‘incentivising innovation and investment’ on the morning radio shows.
I’m pretty sure the UK scheme was around in some form back when I was there, and worked the same way. I may even have been involved in submitting claims that were in line with the guidance but miles away from the stated policy objective. I’ve little doubt that any football clubs doing it have ticked all the boxes and paid big fees to their accountants to construct and maximise those claims.. and are no more or less deserving of the benefits than countless other businesses that don’t actually research and develop anything. But they’re an easy target for a journo who reckons they’ve found a scandal. I bet ‘The Times’ has made R&D claims.
Booked my flights, hotel and car for Kamloops. Just missing tickets for the tournament, but they don't appear to be on sale yet. It's not a European adventure, but it will be my first time watching a Forest side on non-English soil.
Edit: seems they don't sell individual match tickets, but a pass for the whole tournament was a princely $75. So I'm all booked.
Supporters that have held 21/22 Home NFFC membership, renewed as a 22/23 Gold member, renewed as a 23/24 MyForest Pro member, renewed as a 24/25 MyForest Pro member, and have had significant booking history across that same period.
Have that Mince, you should have been a better fan. Got until the 9th to decide if I go for it.
I'm just a better fan, you need to be able to deal with that.
The key driver is the history of the home membership prior to it being a PL thing.
Anyway I'm weighing it up. I'll probably go for it but it's nice to be able to chose.
Pros:
I assume I'll get some European priority and a shout at domestic away games
If they do ever knock down the main stand I'll still be able to go.
Every home game I can lord it up over the idiot with the tricycle tattoo.
Cons:
You can sell back 3 games I beleive. I only do 8-10 a season and that won't change.
If it goes digital which I believe is from 26/27 onwards you can't pass the card on.
Probably not being able to return to a top level member at the end of the season if I don't renew.
Was going to say that, providing you can afford the up front cost, since promotion there’s been no downside to buying a season ticket.
Of course, there’s no guarantee that’s going to continue. The club could restrict the number of times you can use the exchange (unlikely) or if we’re midtable and playing lots of European games, maybe that January midweek game against Bournemouth won’t sell out.
Well, they must be working down the list of people who paid £10 to go on the s-t waiting list, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Otherwise, what's the point of the list?
