The most annoying thing is that I actually really like Gary Neville as a man, he's never been afraid to express strong political views with which I've almost completely agreed and he's always done so in a way that cuts through bullshit and calls out bigoted scum for what they are. It's a shame that he's decided to just start spouting clickbait views, presumably at the behest of his Sky paymasters.

Presumably the fascists would suggest that it's your personal responsibility to not be misled by them?

Were it not them laughing all the way to the bank when you are.

No I refer to comments, such as ‘mafia’, embarrassment, Nuno should walk… Neville can be articulate at times, he needs to remove twitter from his phone and engage his brain before commenting in public. Neville the commentator not too shabby, Neville the media pundit - absolute cock.

It hasn’t been the peoples game since 1992 and for that Sky absolutely have to take part of the blame, lets not forget Sky = Murdoch in all of this, who was at work with the UK government well before “the Russians”…

Would we like the club to run itself in a more discreet manner, absolutely, will it all come down in a crashing mess when Marinakis leaves absolutely, but if he pisses off Sky and Neville occasionally I’m not going to be upset, not a jot.

I see the behaviour of club owners, and what they do to the former community assets, as more damaging to our game than just competing for more money every day of the week.

There needs to be scrutiny, if not those who cover the game, then who? Us the supine public who just take what we are given, and cheer the odd time it's not us being shafted worst?

I will never think that persecuting individuals for legitimate comment is acceptable. Even if I think the full extent of what they say is prickish and misses the legitimate point - as I do in this case. I have never addressed the comments. Just our behaviour, which I would like to think should be better in lots of ways.

I have no doubt there will be be scrutiny tomorrow from the likes of Henry Winter, whose view on football IMHO is worth listening to and who seems to care about the game, the club should spend more seeking out his and others views rather than focusing on G Neville.

Living 3,000 miles away its difficult to have a deep seated knowledge of the work the club is doing in the community, but it does seem that they have taken steps to improve, backing the women’s football team, creating the netball team, and what appears to be an improved attempt to work in the schools and community at large, but if you know different I’ll defer to your local knowledge.

Whilst your holding the club accountable that’s fair enough, I would just prefer that Sky and their like rather than revert to headlines and ‘troll like’ behavior that they held themselves to a higher standard of journalism - rather than hiding under the “entertainment” clause. As long as it’s all Mejia banter, then it could be argued that the club is just playing the game.

Quite. I am alluding to principle, rather than what we might think about individual cases of comment (I could find you examples of much worse, about all sorts of things, than the comments of G. Neville Esq.).

As for us demanding better for ourselves, I'm all for it...but that's a different issue - or "whataboutery" if you prefer in this context.

Murdoch hasn’t owned Sky since 2018.

Tbf, it's only the back page lead in the Telegraph and Mail, and on the back of the Express.
It's just more unnecessary nonsense from the fragile ego of our (former) owner.

Mo Salah unsurprisingly won PL POTY, but Morgan and Woody were both on the shortlist (of 8). Liverpool and Forest were the only clubs with more than one shortlisted player.

Interestingly, or not, this article has been updated
The original made no mention of Nuno, but was all about the owner and how he could become the first person to win the ECL with two different clubs. Presumably it was pointed out we probably shouldn't be describing him as the owner just now.

    It still doesn't mention Nuno.

It has changed again from last night, seems like back to the original version.

He’s still the owner, his shares are held in a trust on his behalf.

Believe, as we’re in different European competitions, he can reverse that now. Although I’m not sure it made any practical difference anyway.

Against all the odds, Nuno has become popular.

I think we all know what that means.
