Interesting choice for prospective buyers at your 50/60m price point: Delap, promising but not ready. Ferguson, was promising...seems to have gone down the pan...temporarily? Cunha, physically and technically the real deal, temperamentally a firework. Some Carlos, from a warmer country, and a less intense league, who may or may not fancy it, even if he can hack it.

Definitely think I could get more fun out of fifty million squid than buying a top flight striker.

Cunha isn't going to lead your line though, so it's not a fair comparison and he's 26 in May, so you probably aren't getting much back. Also Ferguson's price is dropping by the week, he's nowhere near the other two now - by the end of the season, he could be down to Elanga money.

I'd take him at Elanga money.

I'd snap your hand off at Elanga money....he's had ankle ligament surgery, and been out for months. I still think he can be the real deal.

Is Elanga money the £50m Newcastle offered us, or the £14m we bought him for?

56 Andersons, or 200. Good question.

I was thinking the latter. That's probably unrealistic but I don't think they could get more than 25m for him.

The Victor Osimhen rumour is bouncing up again. I personally consider it a zero chance transfer, but he'd be an upgrade on Wood in pretty much any definition you like (except maybe team support). The numbers are just too eye-watering, and he'd want exit clauses too.

His goalscoring record is absurd though.

I haven't seen it, but apparently Aina assisted Osimhen's goal.

Murillo makes his Brazilian debut in 30 minutes against Argentina.

I was about to mention how convenient it was that Gabriel and Guimaraes got themselves booked and suspended in Brazil's first game and subsequently flew home. Then I remembered that Newcastle and Arse don't have a game this weekend. What with them having been knocked out of the cup and all...

Subbed at HT. Hopefully not through injury.

Looks like it may have been because he was on a booking, and Brazil were being hammered.
