B team at Sutton United tonight - a win and they'll qualify for the National League Cup knockout stages. They are 2-0 down after 15 minutes.
It's a young, inexperienced team (u18 player making debut in midfield), with forwards Norkett and Fletcher the only ones with experience of competitive senior football.

PGMOL have confirmed 4 VAR errors so far this season. One is our disallowed goal v Southampton.

  • 4 Feb 2025, 10:42 p.m.

I saw that. Do they think the transparency of admitting the errors will generate more trust? I note they did not going into the 9 things that were missed

What are they going to do when one of those errors is material? At either end of the table…or do the clubs agree to not to litigate?

It was incredibly obvious that Wood did not interfere. The whole thing was a farce and it clearly put us off our game. 4-1 and cruising would possibly have us even pushing on a little more. Another one of Anthony Taylor/VAR specials.

That was definitely the most egregious of decisions against us this season and that doesn't include the MGW nonsense in the first game against Brighton when guess who Anthony Taylor was involved..

Nothing will ever top Liverpool last season (Everton was close) but this one was a peach...

I saw a written interview with the landlady who was suggesting that Marinakis should financially help them with their losses. I say fuck em.

  • 4 Feb 2025, 11:47 p.m.

She was probably joking. The BBC reports all are lovely and they said that losing a thousand quid was worth it because it made all the punters happy. Originally it freaked them out but then they got into the spirit of everything.

I didn't see anything in her interview that said that the club should do anything and that they are big fans. You miserable cunt.

Ignore the propaganda chic, they are just trying to demonize places for us to congregate and engage in discourse, and froth us up to fight amongst ourselves.

Just think about how every story could be reported, if they didn't think the worst of everyone, and be so allergic to feel good news.

What a wonderful world it could be. But we wouldn't stand for the inequalities that actually exist. Which is the key point.

One of those half-jokes, where it's no expectation but dropping a hint just in case. It's been great advertising more than anything, and they've come across pretty well.

Landlady will never spend a better grand on advertising. She should be thanking Forest really.

  • 5 Feb 2025, 7:36 a.m.

I viewed the comment about the club helping out as very much tongue in cheek. I think she’s come across very well and has definitely embraced the value of the episode….I don’t know why some of you killjoys are giving her stick, it’s a funny/feel good story.

Yeah, I think it was tongue in cheek, but equally, half-true given he gave £8k to the junior football club that was burgled.
And the club probably thinks that if he did give cash to the pub - for their own mistake - loads of chancers would start making similar claims, thinking he would stump up.

    L3-2 and eliminated.
They have reached the QF of the Notts Senior Cup (Basford away on Tues 11/2) and the QF of the Premier League International Cup (awaiting draw) though.

100% I thought she was just running with an unexpected marketing win. If we really wanted to sit around and wank each other off then I suppose club could suggest they'd match the spend to a charity of the pubs choosing but ultimately no harm down, good Madri all round.

They sent John McGovern round with a shirt, what more could they want?

    John McGovern and two shirts?
