You're talking more sense as you get older. This is broadly my view. Klopp had a go at him. He doesn't like him. That's kinda it right? Not like he's purposefully awarding penalties against them.

Struck me, too.
Scousers will probably want every game replayed since this video where they didn't win and Coote was refereeing.
Or a minute's silence for each perceived injustice.
Assume we'll get a points deduction for this?
He’s from Notts….so it makes sense.
Mirror reporting already that Coote insists the video is not genuine. PGMOL has 'tech experts' examining it, which is an amusing irony in itself.
Presumably by that they mean the guy that draws the lines for offside.
Stevie Wonder?
They are now saying it is him.
VAR overturned?
I saw somebody on Twitter say that they initially watched the video on mute and thought Coote had been caught by the paedo hunters.
So there, at least is some sort of a silver lining.
EBP, you're up mate!
My mate at the FA says the latest line is that the other fella in the video is a former partner of Coote's and therefore there's a jilted-lover element to its sudden release into the public domain.

The notion that referees don't have feelings about incidents where they have been effed and jeffed at, intimidated in front of tens of thousands of people, and had a crap day, is nonsense. It is human nature to rant about it to your mates or those close to you, and is probably a necessary requirement of good mental health. There is no reason an official can't have those feelings, and operate professionally. It's a totally different issue to them being crap. It's hardly a new thing, it brings to mind the ubiquitous referee after dinner speech about how a referee made a penalty taker re-take a penalty until they missed.
Embarrassing for the referee in question (interestingly, or not, we were talking about him on sunday because one of the lads who used to play for me knows him), but one to file under 'so fucking what'.
An apology from the ref, and get on with your job, for me. It is a comment on society that so much scrutiny falls on individuals because nobody has what used to be called integrity, and allow private expression to be exactly that. It's not at all healthy, and the desire to hold people to an unrealistic standard does us great harm. It makes liars and frauds of us all.
I've played, regularly, when being officiated by referees who, at the very least, strongly disliked me. I know, because they kept telling me, and would book me because they just hated the sound of my voice. All fair enough...it's in the opinion of the referee.
I saw David Coote at a Harborough Town game last season, he was with someone I know from work. Left them to it as he seemed to be there in some sort of working capacity.
Later caught up with person I know (who is a friend of Cootes and went with him as lives nearby) and it turns out he was their watching the ref that he is/was a mentor for.
I find things like this a bit sad. Career ruined at 42 for some comments made in private that aren’t even that bad. Klopp is a cunt, most people can see he’s a cunt. But he will be hung out to dry as that’s what bodies like the PGMOL do.
Maybe he will be able to drop down like Madely did, after also being stitched up by a ‘mate’ over comments he made that were recorded.
