Why they can't just do what cricket does, I don't know. Three reviews per team per match, called by the captain when the ball goes dead after the incident. Full audio of the review live to the stadium and TV.

There's hundreds of different ways it can be done. Not sure that's the panacea. Though the current setup certainly isn't.
I was initially pro VAR as I really don't like being cheated. Win fair, lose fair. I thought it would help with ridiculous decisions like clear (Ha) handballs and penalties. It isn't doing. Let's get rid. Would be great if each club did a poll of their fanbase to judge their answer to this.
The key element being ‘umpire’s call’ to allow a margin of error.
So Wolves are waving their A4 in the VAR car park?
I'd rather get rid of PGMOL personally.
How long is that going to take?
Nightmarish. CHO is hacked down by Ashley Young and the referee waves play on. Then Everton go down the other end and score.
They are celebrating, while Yates plays his Joker (there's an outdated reference). Then Atwell decides its not enough to overturn the on field decision.
How is that better?
Scrap var.
Var gives the benefit of the doubt to the onfield decision already. That made us unhappy at Everton.
They are re-refereeing games, which is causing the onfield officials to not make decisions. Which is the start of the problems. Instead of making the video assistant referee what it says in the name. Which is the actual solution. As I have said all along.

I think this is the key issue. On-field referee ducking the big calls in favour of 'sending it upstairs'. Problematic.

Your solution is, I think, that the VAR should call the referees attention to anything they’ve missed? Which just means referees won’t make any decisions and will devolve them all to the guy with multiple angles and slow motion.
Nuke it from orbit, it’s the only way to be sure.
It's worth remembering that the problems are with the (interpretation of the) implementation, the shit referees, and the bias. Not the use of technology per se.
But the technology doesn't make anything better. It just means we argue over smaller and smaller decisions.
Was Geo Reyna fouled by Ashley Young in the Everton game? VAR doesn't get us any closer to a definitive answer but provides an expectation that we will.

Let me re-wind to what I have always said. VAR should be what it says that it is. An assistant referee with access to the broadcast camera angles. The original rationale being to avoid clear and obvious errors that made the officials look bad on telly.
An assistant referee is in contact with the referee, giving an opinion from his angle. The referee makes a decision based on what he can see, and the information given to him by his assistants. Add a video watching body to this mix Put him near the tunnel with a monitor on each camera feed. None of this deciding which part of the pitch to referee, no rocking and rolling, and still images. There is no stopping play (play is continuous). There is no re-refereeing based on an interpretation heirachy. All decisions are in the opinion of the referee, and the assistant officials are there, with the best possible views of the game, to try to help him not look a mug.
This keeps the game how it has been for 100 years (stupid fucking law interpretations aside), and is how officiating should work. It's how I said it should be done before it came in, is contingent with the spirit and the laws of the game, and the stated objectives for bringing it in, and would not be the clusterfuck of problems that we are currently seeing.
As ever, if I genuinely think I could do better (as in this case), then there is a clear and obvious problem with what is being done. That's either because everyone involved in it is a massive idiot...or because it's there for objectives that are not the stated ones.
Nuke it.
It has absolutely sapped the joy from the money shot of the best bit of why people watch football. The moment the ball hits the net. The explosion of joy. Now with an added 2 minute wait to see if some cunt 50 miles away can spot an infringement on the telly.
Club claiming a 97% renewal rate. So about 600 out of about 20,000 didn't renew. That's going to create an interesting bun fight for the 11,000 unranked waiting list.
3% didn’t renew which seems like they make up a good 50% of the #nffc timeline on twatter.
