There was a line on Today this morning that there's something in Trump's defamation action around the fact the BBC carries weather reports for Florida as evidence of the publication to an American audience. Which sounds ludicrously flimsy.
So the lovely family man and war hero who ran everyone over turns out to be a nasty cunt who was kicked out the Marines for continuous offences (after never going overseas) and bit a man’s ear off a few months after.

Maybe you would think differently if it was you or a loved one on the receiving end? He committed a criminal offence and was rightfully prosecuted. I would say that it's a message worth sending, yes. Neither fame nor free speech is cover for defamation, and if it makes some of these sad online cunts think twice then it's worth it.

I would be delighted if he was sued out of awareness, except as an amusing educational story.
No one is being targeted on here, and no offences are being committed. And I’m not against distaste but targeted harassment is plain wrong.
As an isolated case I’m not sure he’d have been prosecuted. But he was targeting many others such as Lucy Ward and Eni Aluko which led to pile ons and he made life very unpleasant for them.
I’m quite cheery he was brought to account, if nothing happens then all we are doing is legitimising vile behaviour.
