I read this earlier and it screamed of we needed a reason to get rid of this guy and this was the best we could come up with

Well here's 3 reasons for a start; weird relationship with granny, workshy and replies to emails when hocked up on goofballs. And that's before you get into him being a big lying bastard.

"He also said that he was having personal difficulties following the death of his grandmother, had taken six weeks of medical leave and was on strong medication when he replied to emails."

Looks like people want seven bins. Who'd have thought worrying people in outer London about paying to use their cars wasn't translatable to a national winning strategy?

General Election in January 2025, it is then.

We already have 7 bins/bags - we are ahead of the curve

We only have 6. I'm guessing you lucky ones get to separate metal from plastic.

It’s difficult for me to know who I despise most in this government. Every time I think I know (Suella, JRM, 30p Lee..), someone else pops up to enrage me. Recently, it has been people who you thought were on the more reasonable end of the spectrum as opposed to the confirmed batshit crazy nazis. The disappointment in their basic lack of self respect is only offset by the knowledge that they will almost certainly face electoral ruin next year. Then I worry about (a) how much damage these clowns can inflict in 12 months and (b) that several of them will be financially fine as they will consult for some Tufton St think tank and get on the speaker circuit.

However, Rishi is always podium material with his consistent cuntitude evident on a daily basis. Queen Marina skewers him nicely today, which is always good for my sanity. For those of you non-believers in The Hyde cult, you only need to read this sentence to get the main thrust. I’m sure we’re all frightfully sorry to have detained him in public service, particularly given how unequal he is to the many crises gripping the country he was not elected to lead.

    And relax….

Why is domestic recycling so much more graft than industrial. We have a recycling skip here at work. At the waste companies instruction the only thing that doesn't go in it is kitchen waste. It's great. We're saving the planet and doing fuck all all at the same time.

Yes, we have our separate metals tub - we are living the dream - our back decking looks a real treat.

We have two bins here, garbage and recycling. Anything that is recyclable goes in the one bin and gets dumped in the same truck, then taken back to a depot where a combination of high tech machinery and magic elves sort it into its respective treatment systems (actually if you made me guess I would expect it just gets loaded onto a ship and sent to a foreign country to become someone else's problem).

I think Charnwood have the same system. We in the NW Leicestershire paradise have 7 - I am hoping to get up to 10 at some point

Yep Charnwood has two bins (recycled and non recycled), plus a chargeable garden waste one. I'l be honest - I am constantly unclear about what can be recycled, and always fascinated to know how hard the depots actually work to process the small stuff to ensure that they recycle as much as possible. I'd heard that something like a dirty / greasy takeaway pizza box could soil everything else and mean loads more just gets landfilled. Whether that is bullshit or not, I dunno, but magic elves and shipping abroad is probably correct.

Three here in South Yorkshire. Blue for paper, black for 'whatever' and brown for containers/tins/bottles etc.

Two in Southwell although a third has been promised. Confusingly, the 'whatever' bin is green.

This is also the Rushcliffe way. Garden waste bin is £35/year.
