I think a change is entirely reasonable. Personally I've never been a big fan of his professional broadcasting (his personal social media, on the other hand, I'm a big fan). It's just that you know under the stewardship of the current BBC hierarchy it's not going to get better.
Not that it bothers me, I checked out of broadcast TV some time ago (Indeed I haven't seen a single match of the day this season, and only a couple last). It's just my abiding compassion and support for my fellow man* that makes me care at all.
