If that was true I'd have slept with way more woman than I have.

The problem with this is Jeremy Vine is also quite unlikeable.

Agreed, but Joey Barton is several rungs up on the cunt-o-meter, I'd suggest.

Generally I find footballers a highly admirable and likeable bunch. Much more so than the average member of the general population. Our Joey is on a one man mission to prove me wrong.

I don't mind Vine. Mainly for his cycling viewpoints as you might imagine.

I'm not actually convinced he does much to further the cause. It's a worthy campaign but you surely need to bring folk with you, and his posts frequently descend into not much more than 'fuck-you, motorists'.

That's biking social media for you. There's no solidarity among cyclists, and I say this as someone who bikes quite a lot.

I wasn't aware he was running any sort of campaign.

I worked with Jeremy Vine a couple of times. He was sound, even if his TV show is shit.

Really? Vine's Twatter feed is video, after video, after video of his GoPro footage cycling around central London and pointing out motorists' errors (often at great length and clearly which must have taken a fair while to edit and clip). All they seem to do is spark online rows between cyclists and drivers, rather than either educating motorists or promoting his love of bikes - almost as if that's deliberate.

I find it slightly odd. All that effort for I'm not sure quite what reward.

What should he be doing instead?

I presume he's getting decent revenue from Twitter for them too btw.

No idea, it's none of my concern. But you said he wasn't waging some kind of campaign, which he demonstrably is.

I'd say he's venting about terrible driving, with video proof. Which he makes some money from.

I doubt he needs any of the money this generates, which means that's zero motivation for him. The bloke posts on the subject incessantly - he's plainly campaigning.
