When I was on the flight back from Phoenix last week the plane was full of yanks all very excited about the Coronation. They've been well and truly at the Kool-Aid, especially for Republicans.

One American lady heard my accent and asked if I was going home to watch the Coronation. "If Charles was in my back yard, I'd close the curtains".

I don't mind the whole thing so much, but I didn't watch any of it. But at least it made it nice and quiet when I took the dog for a long walk Sat afternoon.

We escaped on our narrowboat for the weekend. I did hear some stuff on the radio and saw some pics online (which looked like snaps of a live performance of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) but no TV, thankfully. It was surprising how few boats were sporting bunting, compared to the last time we were on the canals during a royal bunfight (probably one of the jubilee events).

My friends a liveaboard (moored canal side rather than a marina, so a lot of passing boats) and he said simular.
During the Jubilee a lot of people had gone all out with decorating their boats etc, but this time he saw very few joining in with the celebrations.

I see that a minister (government not church, even if they are roughly the same thing these days) has conceded that mistakes were made in the policing of protests at the anointed hatting. Also the police have expressed their 'regret'.

That's mistakes that were announced in advance as going to happen, and regret for doing what they planned to do.

    Funny world.

"Boris said to him, an unelected royal. What is it for him that caused him to call, what is a key government policy, 'appalling'."

Tories are clearly not very bright. It's that it's appalling you nasty little man.

I think that story is as much about Guto Harri trying to make himself relevant and push his podcast as it is about how odious BoJo is. Let’s face it, he’s no Alistair Campbell or Emily Maitlis.

From tomorrow I am to be represented in Parliament by all the might of the Reclaim party.

    Exciting times...

That's one of those protest groups that the russians are funding to destabilise the country, isn't it?

Presume so, is Lawrence Fox's funtime party.

What nobody seemed to notice was what was Taylor Swift doing on that balcony? Although making her kneel to be smaller than them was a bit rude.

    Chicago: Swifty.

How else is she going to show her gratitude to our king? On your knees, Swift.
