I’m pretty sceptical about regulators and ombudsmen as they are generally ineffectual. I could be convinced of the benefits of this one but I’d like some specifics of what difference it would have made in the past - I’ve seen the Hull Tigers rename and Cardiffs shirt colour change given as examples but, in both those cases, the market worked. All the complaints about bad owners are fine but, without mind reading ability, it’s almost impossible to tell in advance who is going to be bad owner. And will the courts really allow them to force, say, Dai Youngge to sell?
