It’s Ed Milliband’s fault. If he could just eat a bacon sarnie without looking like a weirdo the press might never have figured out that ‘hey, look at this freak’ gets more clicks than ‘this cunt hates you and wants to make your life worse’.

It was Ed Milibands fault for standing against his brother in the leadership election.
I am still devastated we never got to see the Steve Miller Band lead Labour.
....so it would seem to be that the fascist conspiracy play (discredit and exclude the tory prime minister) might be to promote 'reform' and the eminently trustable Nigel Farage (all over every major media outlet to a level that totally outweighs his prominence/relevance/achievement/ideology).
Can't understand the calculation...unless it's an acknowledgement that the mildly sane middle ground of the electorate have completely rumbled the corrupt anti-society tories, and are just looking to firm up the deranged vote amongst the boiled in the bag nutters.
It's fascinating that the flag shagging brigade who are falling for Farage's 'I love my country' rhetoric (even though he lives and pays tax in Belgium - or so I read) are calling those opposing him 'far left fascists'.
Thick. As. Mince.
Is that a lie?
I've seen various things talk about adding council tax bands as a way of Labour raising more tax but that wouldn't help central government, would it?
My loose understanding is that the council gets a certain amount from central government that is determined by some mysterious factor (add a bit for Tory councils, etc), then they raise whatever else they need through council tax with the individual amounts determined by whichever band your houses value put it in in 1991.
So, simplified version - council needs to raise £50,000,000 and they have 50,000 houses, split evenly between 5 bands, so they set band A to 800, band B to 900, band C to 1000, band D to 1100 and band E to 1200 and they've made their money. If you add bands F and G, you'll transfer some money between the lower bands and the new ones within that council area but unless it determines the funding from central government it won't make any difference to people in the council 100 miles north who don't have any houses in bands F and G.
Maybe they would reduce the central grants by the extra they raise
Labour, at risk of being seen to do anything have now already said they are not going to change the council tax bands.
Capital gains and removing higher rate tax relief on pensions then...?
Invade the Cayman Islands?
Hold Michelle Mone upside down and shake her pockets empty?
I'm guessing they may do something on dividend tax too. Hopefully with some workaround for small OMB's to keep the tax similar to being self employed.

What actually happens (I guess in theory if no actual precedent) if the Prime Minister isn't returned to Parliament but the their party win the majority to be re-elected to government ?
