Listened to his first interview. Wish I hadn’t heard the spurs fan on Forest Focus point out that he always uses “I” and “me”. Compare to Nuno (and, I think Cooper) who would almost always use “we”.
Cooper and, to lesser degree Nuno, used “we” to the point of distraction. Verging on the royal “we”
It’s a fine line between collective responsibility and lack of accountability.
Just to be clear (since you seem determined not to be), would you also be happy with 17th, winning Europa & Ange still in post? Or does your happiness at least partly depend on the lack of Ange?
On a point of order, shouldn't this sort of false jeopardy debate be accompanied by a question about whether someone or something is 'the best'? Even if it's just smoke and mirrors to distract from sub-optimal reading skills?
Apparently the league squad doesn't have to be named until today or tomorrow. Probably won't but does open up the possibility of some differences from the Europa league squad (aside from the obvious additions). Taiwo and Jota Silva are prominent in the training video from the club - maybe one of them in for Boly?
That's a huge blow. Suggests a spell of Nico to right-back and Zinchenko on the left (after the Arsenal game obviously), along with a fair bit of finger-crossing that neither gets injured.
To be fair we've paid £13m for a right back from Juventus. At that price you've got to hope he can 'do a job' and would probably be my first option.
Edit; I'll add that Zinchenko has barely played the last two seasons, and that even when he has there's a school of thought that defensively he's a bit suss. So I don't think putting him straight into the team should be a given.
I gather that we have an issue with the homegrown rule. Aina is homegrown from the Chelsea days, and losing him means we can only replace with homegrown, as we only just make the quota. Zinc can't therefore directly replace Aina in the Europa squad, so it would be Hutchinson in for Aina.
