Morato looked capable. Better than I've seen him before

Would you be saying that if Woltemade had taken the chance he teed up for him?

Chants of getting sacked in the morning again. Led to arguments with those who disagree (with chatting it at least) and some scuffles.

Good to see all the positives of last few years drained away in what, 3 weeks,

I'm pleased the stats show what I saw, never had a threatening shot on goal, our shots are pass backs.

Are our players good enough to play out from back round/through a press? I've seen no real evidence of it so far.

We've spent a lot of money but have we actually improved the squad? I'm unsure, but it's hard to tell with so many factors on play. But am leaning towards massive fuck up in transfer window.

This is me. Apart from Jesus, who was actually good value, and Jair Cunha who is a good prospect we might as well have stuck with Jota, Ramon and Toffs.

Assume they wanted him sacked tonight rather than in the morning? Or was it a ‘I’m a more loyal fan’ type disagreement?

Loyal fan, don't sing stuff like that. Think they likely still want him gone.

Though the guy next to me was remonstrating with guy behind and saying we've played well today why do you want him gone. I had to say to him I think it's a stretch to say we played well.

Sounds like a good new unit, to go with an Anderson. An Armstrong of a stretch. (Angestrong?)

I said beforehand anything less than 4 conceded would be a good result so I guess on that scale we did play well.

Yes, I did rather expect us to get pumped. Although he cheated a bit. Setting us up like a megoo team.

Postecoglou told Fray afterwards that he 'thought we controlled the first half'. Not sure if he was at a different game this afternoon.

At this point I think I'm more afraid that Russell Martin will become available soon, than I am about ange's eyesight.

You can’t take that sort of nonsense seriously. All managers say shit like that.

I mean, he's correct. So long as he equates "control" to "still in the game at half time".

I thought the Swansea game was a fairly even match. Today was what you'd expect Swansea to achieve on a visit to Newcastle. This is our level with Ange in charge.

I keep looking at the line-up and thinking that's what late-stage Steve Cooper would have picked, when I had pretty much given up (sadly) on him.

Perhaps, but when you're in the position that Postecoglou is - and the evidence is obviously to the contrary - I'd argue you're better finding another clichéd response to lean on.

I find myself not overly concerned with what he says, or how. I think he's doing fine on that, under the circumstances. Although obviously how those comments are viewed and picked apart will be informed by what people see on the pitch.

It's more the what we see on the pitch that concerns me. The where they stand, and where they move to. If that looked okay to me I wouldn't even be that worried about the results.

    I'm worried.

The trivial interview thing that I do think is dumb is that in 30 years of management no-one has pointed out to him that looking at your feet all the way through interviews makes you look shifty and evasive.

Aren't we supposed to think that he's just being clever, drawing fire on himself, and relieving pressure on the players?....something, something, wibble.
