Alright Terry Nutkins, fucking hell.
Alright Terry Nutkins, fucking hell.
It's Norfolk. All we've got is wildlife and shagging our sisters. And I don't have a sister.
These days shagging your brother is as just as acceptable as your sister.
There’s a reason I moved to another continent.
What?
Chicago: Soon to be green fingered.
Wait until Chic discovers his new garden has been a favoured burial ground for the Chicago mafia.
Well if you look up where we are moving to then you are not far off the mark. This is the area which has a reputation as an Italian Capo Neighbourhood. Maywood IL. The mob bosses lived in Nearby River Forest and the foot soldiers in Maywood. There have been plenty of bodies found in basements and gardens in these two little enclaves. River Forest is super rich and Posh and Maywood rather gritty but with some really great vintage historic houses.
We cannot afford to live in River Forest so Maywood it is. We have already met some of the denizens. They are quite Italian. No Amazon package goes missing which is a good sign. Can't say the rest for people who are a bit too nosey about people's affairs.
My wife is half Italian. I am sure she is fine. I, on the other hand don't really wish to go for a walk with the boys in the nearby Forest Preserve...
Chicago: A bit nervous of the compost heap.
At the risk of turning this into the dead bird thread, another one today.
We had one yesterday, cat killed, and a baby bird (half of) a couple of days ago.
We had a spate of bird deaths a few years ago and had to send one off to a lab (i think throughthe RSPB). Apparently there can be parasites. We had to not feed the birds for a few months.
Was fun when the post office asked what was in the parcel.
The latest one had been separated from a wing, so that would have been one hell of a parasite.
I don't know, it might be a big parasite.
Going to see the house today and hope it is progressing enough for there to be an appraisal. Wifey is looking at a natural gas fire pit as we like the idea of a real fire place but burning down the newly erected six feet wooden fence and the house might not be the greatest idea considering we haven't moved in yet.
Hopefully the wildlife from the nearby Forest Preserve don't have goat AIDS.
Chicago: Firing up the enthusiasm.
Consider one of these instead.
Harvested some new potatoes yesterday. Sublime.
I'm a big fan of fire but I always think looking to control it like this takes all the fun out of it.
Have yours flowered already?
I pulled mine up this time last year, but they were quite small, I got told I had pulled them far to early and was meant to wait for them to completely finish flowering and start to die off on top, rather than pulling them just before they've started flowering. However I'm quite impatient and looking for any excuse to pull them soon.
