Wasn't it more that people were desperate for MGW to stop taking set-pieces? It has made a difference....he's now free in open play after a crap set piece.
To be fair we haven't played that bad this half just lacking a bit of talent in front of goal. We have both Man U and Bournemouth coming up and Bournemouth are doing to Man U what we should have but couldn't.
Anyone seriously think that performance, and a draw away at Wolves isn't a decent result? Pause for thought that it could possibly get worse with a change?
Steve Hodge: "Whatever else you might say, he picked the right team to get a result today".
Solid. Not unhappy with that as long as Steve gets the message that his 4-3-3 does not work, at all, at least without Taiwo. He needs to stop doing it if he wants to keep his job.
It was. Still too many stretches without enough confidence or possession. Patches in the first half and a lot of the second were solid and just needed that final touch. Williams, Toffolo, Mangala, and (uncrocked) Murillo definitely starters after that performance.
Turner still gives me the heebie-jeebies when he’s passed back to and some distribution but seemed reasonably assured and in the grand scheme of things didn’t have a huge amount to do. What there was, did well.
I feel like Wolves (this season at least) are a at a level we should be aspiring to for this season. So I’m not too downhearted about a draw. I am concerned that the home performances have fallen off.
I don’t see a lot that I’d change from the team that started today. Hopefully, this kind of thing can bring Felipe back so we don’t have to lean on Murillo so much (especially if he’s crocked).
