Wolves played at home on Tuesday and we played away on Wednesday. That seems a little unfair. Maybe our players were saving themselves for the game that really matters to save Cooper.
The promising football we played in spells against Palace, Wet Ham and Villa appears to have totally vanished. It can't all be down to Awoniyi's injury. I'm wondering if something has happened behind the scenes. I'm certainly far from convinced that the whole team were playing for Cooper last night. I'll be pleasantly surprised if Wolves don't stick 3 or 4 past us.
A stable back 3 would be nice. Two of Sangare, Mangala and Dominguez. Not all 3. Is Sangare really recovered from the virus? If he's only at say 95% that could explain a lot.
I want a better goalie.
I still reckon we're close to something clicking. But something has really knocked us out of our stride.
I'm baffled we haven't seemed to try a back 3 for a while, when we seemed to build a squad which allowed for switching from a 3 to a 4. But maybe injuries and freeze-outs are the reason?
I'd like to see a 3-5-1-1 where MGW plays off Elanga for now. Go back to being scrappy and hard to beat, like after Leicester last year. Without Taiwo, and with the current seeming malaise in the squad, I don't see us getting points another way.
I am completely without hope. This will not be pretty. Will try and ignore the match as its the wedding anniversary and not being miserable would be advantageous.
This occurred to me. He might just have had a stinker but, such is the quality and intensity of the Premier League these days, even being five per cent off the pace is likely to get found out quickly.
