I didn't say that you did. What might be true is the widespread lack of support, and the sort of things that people are saying (that I personally don't recognise as objectively fair), might very well lead to that outcome.

So we might need to consider the consequences of our actions.

  • 6 Feb 2026, 10:29 p.m.

Would we have won that under Nuno or Ange?. I feel not. We can whine and bitcb about the defence but our midfield and forwards were largely shite

The incident where MGW chose to shoot rather than pass to Abbott sums it up. Thats not the fault of Dyche. Or the fault of Abbott. Whether he trusts him or not, you pass it to a fellow pro.

  • 6 Feb 2026, 10:39 p.m.

We lost that game because of shit defending. They targeted our right side and Abbott/Nico obliged. We got some control back and I agree Jesus could probably have converted a chance. We then conceded a terrible goal. Followed by a keystone cops second.

MGW didn’t pass to Abbott because he knew he would fuck it up. Like he did every other time he had the ball.

Nobody could have looked at that team sheet and expected anything from tonight.

Current form over last 6 games, is mid table...joint with fulham, sunderland, and leeds. Ahead of teams including Brighton, Tottenham, Liverpool, Palace, ManShitty, and of course all the bottom three.

If I was a supporter I would be getting behind them to help hold that sort of form.

Just read his post match quotes. Blames the players as usual rather than the set up.

I’m 58 (in May) and occasionally do complicated work. I admit when I’ve got things wrong and try and rectify them, either in the moment. Or for the next time. I’m not dogmatic and see it as a strength when you can still learn and be flexible. If the mistake is mine, I certainly don’t blame my team. I take responsibility. Dyche is younger than me but acts a like an intransigent old git.

  • 6 Feb 2026, 10:55 p.m.

Point of note: all of their goals came from our left side. The Abbott / Dominguez combo wasn't responsible for any of them.

  • 6 Feb 2026, 10:56 p.m.

"That's my job, my role, my responsibility, to make them game ready and we didn't perform today".

I suppose you had the cardboard up over that.

  • 6 Feb 2026, 11:18 p.m.

His sky interval was critical of soft goals etc but his message seemed to be "that's not like us". I'm on the fence with Dyche but I do think he is generally supportive in his post defeat interviews.

Even the quote you give is mealy mouthed. Down to players’ performance not his tactics or selection.

    From the BBC:

*Three awful goals, you can't give away goals like that at this level. Credit to them, they deserved it. We warned the players, we know the atmosphere in here and all the talk of it. We started playing well, we made two chances, but you can't get done with a straight ball over the top with your unit all staring at the ball. Then we give away a second that's not great. I actually thought we were still in it at that point. Then the third goal and you're just scratching your head because they're miles off what we usually do as a unit.

We expected a fast start, I thought we handled that as well as we could. I thought we calmed it and we found pockets, started asking questions of their back line. To concede the first... they drive you mad those ones. They're the basic principles. We tried to play offside for no reason, I don't like that anyway. Then they score a goal out of a nothing situation. Then the third is a real headscratcher. *

Is there any of that which you disagree with?

  • 6 Feb 2026, 11:54 p.m.

I’m missing the part where he says “we had injury and suspension but I decided to play an unbalanced side, taking our best RB and putting him on the other side whilst ignoring a perfectly good new signing. What I did do was put an academy CB at left back so that Leeds could target that side and our players had no outlet as he’s unable to play the ball. Leeds knew this so they made it difficult for us in the middle and down our left. I waited until we were 3-0 down before I made any changes despite 99% of fans screaming that it wasn’t working. In retrospect, I think I got my game plan wrong. I think this approach eroded the belief of the players and it showed.”

He never takes responsibility. He never accepts that he got it wrong. And he does it again and again.

    Fulham
    Wrexham
    Everton
    Villa
    Everton
West Ham (we all know we got lucky)
    Braga
    Leeds

These eight games were truly awful. Some of the worst football I’ve seen Forest play. Poor tactics, badly executed. Definitely the worst when you bear in mind the quality of the players. And by that I mean he’s not dealing with Megsons squad (or even SSC when we got promoted)

    Offset by
    Spurs
    Arsenal
    Brentford
    Palace

Palace was a weird one with Neco’s red card
We lost to City but played well.

I’m not including the Euro games against farmers sides. I include Braga because that was a “must win” game to avoid an extra two.

  • 7 Feb 2026, 12:04 a.m.

On the broadcast the fans (both sets) sounded incredibly loud. At one point in the first few minutes it sounded like a Forest home game.

  • 7 Feb 2026, 12:35 a.m.

The support didn't turn tonight like Braga. I think because everyone saw the team sheet at 645 and knew we would lose, so it took the sting out of any reaction.

Ingo you shouldn't do Wolves. you pussed out for Bentford. i delivered a 3-1 win against Dirty Leeds originally by being brave. Yada Yada Yada. Anyway, speaking of brave....The Game changer in the first game was Hutchinson. He delivered the ball for Lucca to score. He attacked their full back and drove him back. Why wasn't he considered to start this game. Sorry Tricky but it was obvious we should have started Metz. He looked decent when he came on. Aina looked uncomfortable starting on the left and Abbott just slightly out of his depth. He wasn't terrible, but Metz a cut above. Morato is horrible. Cunha all day for me as I like the lad. At least he is not sleeping half the time like the other giant Brazilian who is fucking awful. Dom on the right has worked of late but he is a central midfielder. We looked completely out of shape and when Leeds scored the soft first goal we looked sooooooo fcuking passive. Leeds aren't good but they out fought us all across the park. Out of position selections. No fight in the game. Jesus beyond isolated again. The poor bastard cannot do anything if he is by himself all the time. Also we had 9 corners to their 5. All of them gash. Why is Anderson taking them? Hutchinson would be a better bet. Oh I forgot we didn't play him until it was too late.

I really thought this was our worst performance of the season. We made leeds look good. Anderson was too deep and gave one goal away by farting around at the back. we had no passage forward just hoof. Lucca can score headers but wasn't particularly strong. We need to be braver against teams we can beat. i don't really understand how we can be so passive against teams who could be there for the taking. And also Morgan off and no Mcatee?

terrible terrible night. Dyche got it wrong. The team was poor. We were out fought. Morato is fucking horrible. I would have had abbott or Cunha playing instead of him. Actually Cunha who was excellent in the club world cup against PSG and others. Metz looked fine.

Let's hope we are better against Wolves because we deserved nothing from this game. Yatesy for me against Wolves....

    Chicago: Recoiling in horror.

  • 7 Feb 2026, 6:12 a.m.

You're right he wasn't terrible, he was absolutely fucking appallingly atrocious. He is Championship level at best (as a full back,).

  • 7 Feb 2026, 7:25 a.m.

To be fair to Abbott, he should be out on loan, but the club wants to protect the record of having an academy player in every squad rather than develop and support the players.
