So did they. They could have easily scored three before we got our first. We had no control of the midfield at any point in the game, and at no point were we making Luton actually chase us.
Chris wood should/could have had two headed goals before he scored. We were the better side and if not for Serge's cock up I agree we should have easily won that.
The subs excuse is a weird one because Ryan "Goal Threat" Yates could have scored a third for us after winning the ball and getting it back from a nice set up pass.
What a lot of people have seem to have missed was the impact Ross Barkley had on the Luton midfield. He won balls, He was Progressive and he made good runs into the box which seem to give Poo-ton confidence. They scored not from good play but by lumping it into our box and winning the second balls.
It was extremely disappointing that happened as we really should have seen out the game. Wood scoring twice was nice. As I mentioned could have got a few more headers.
Elanga was a menace for a lot of that game and was the architect of the Second Forest Goal. I see why he was on the pitch. Yates coming on wasn't a problem.
I thought Boly and Murillo were fine. Toff had another good game. Serge had a howler. Joe was out muscled. Elanga and Wood played well. MGW continues to frustrate. Nico Domulator and Sangare weren't doing it for me but that didn't mean the latter shouldn't have scored. A Danillo in this game would have been a mighty fine weapon.
On other days we would have won. This was a major disappointment because we didn't. I was upset when Luton equalized but I still think that there are worse teams than us in the division and Everton should still get a points reduction.
I also think that Coops shouldn't be under pressure. We won't find anyone better to keep us on the right path. Tricky is right. Second season Syndrome is a thing. We are mongs if we think this is going to. be easier. It isn't. We are lucky the Undead, Poo-ton and a couple of others are a bit worse.
We are lacking attacking options, but I felt that at the end of the window. Wood was pleasing but without Taiwo we are a bit of a project. Onwards to the Scouse (who we never beat at Anfield) and hopefully the return of Niahkate's giant throws...
I'm loathe to get into it .... But we had 5 points at this time last season, and we've currently got 10 points, so how are we behind last season's pace?
That takes no account of the timing of whe we played the "comparable" teams last season: how many injuries we had; how long the players had been together; what form we and the opposition were in. As a model, that makes it very limited.
Yeah me and Thomas Tuchel, old Dead Legs got his 9th on the season on Saturday. If you can keep them coming at the rate he keeps the goals coming you'll be impressive.
