Took advantage of unseasonably warm weather, 10 degrees C, to join a hastily arranged ride, rather than just spending time on Zwift this morning, started off ok, then over heated quite badly about 8 miles in, too many layers. Fortunately was able to remove and store in the back cycling pocket the layer I was able to shed, spent the next 6 miles in recovery, after which body temperature had restored to normality and the last 20 miles were so much more fun.

A move south, or buying a place further south for winters is definitely on the cards, last Sunday it was 0c when I went out, riding in such temps doesn’t compare to today.

Bullshit. you can always warm up. It's hard to cool off. Even you admitted you were too warm. I like the cold. It motivates me. The warm brings out noisy mexicans and heatstroke and murder. I may have been drinking bourbon after a long week and a hard to take Forest loss. you know I am right though. Going where it's warm will cut down on your exercise and make you head towards death quicker. Embrace life. Stay in the temperate four season state. you know it's more fun. The warmer states are full of nut job hillybilly assholes. You will get stupid quickly and find yourself arguing like Russ for no reason. Probably because it's too hot to do anything else. You are a reasonable and intelligent fellow with a lousy taste in American sports (Commanders/Redskins really?) but still a decent bloke to talk to.

Dave Rave is high on drugs. Don't listen to him. He doesn't know what heat is. You do. Enjoy your Italian hideaway if you need to but heading south in American will lead to Lynchings and Trump fans. It's a lose lose proposition.

Or, go to the gym several times a week where it's never too hot or too cold. And I'm pretty sure that the lycra clad asses I'm looking at in the gym are much prettier than the ones you're chasing on your bike.

Correct, in the 10 years I've not been using the gym the advancements in lycra have been nothing short of remarkable.

Got a 1.44.1 average on todays work out of the day over 4320m, granted it was 45s on, 45s off but still pleased with maintaining that pace.

The rowing machine Concept 2 issue a workout of the day (WOD) on their website and your result is ranked here.

The challenge is normally a series of intervals or a time/distance goal and your score is either a time or a distance. The main consistent metric is your time to do 500m (think mph on a bike or mile time for a run). Under 2 minutes is a good starting point. I am pleased to hold an average of under 1.45 today. I would very much like to be able to do 2000m at this pace but my current best for this distance 7.24, with an average of 1.51.

That sounds challenging. I’ve just looked through my RepCount app stats that I use at the gym and see that I normally cover about 4000m in 20 mins. Sometimes I do a 5 min session purely as a warm up before doing weights but even then I only seem to average about 1150m.
Have you had a secret motor installed?

Currently midway through a hardcore week of 9 workouts in 7 days. Yesterday was my first double (arms in the morning, cardio in the evening) and today (chest, back and shoulders, workout 6 / day 5) I'm really starting to feel fatigued for the first time.

Did a slow 5km this morning. It's my last run before the Nottm 10K on Sunday morning. I had hoped to be in better shape for it, but I was full of cold and flu for the last 3 weeks and unable to run.

58 minutes 11 seconds. Fine. Only walked for ~200 metres on a couple of steep hills in the park.

Someone I know proudly showing off their London Marathon finisher's medal on FB. Looked up their time, it was over 7 hours. I could walk the fucking thing in that, what was the point? If you're not going to make any effort then stop taking up places for people who will. FFS.

That's around the pace that we used to do over the Derbyshire Moors, bog hopping, with full pack.

Also registered in the annual cockney ballot of disappointment. To mix things up I am trying to right-wing troll my way in so I have put my ethnicity down as 'other'.
