If anyone is still interested in all the New Year, New You bobbins and still wants to run the London Marathon, the charity I work for still has a few golden places available (seven just before Christmas I think). Not sure how much cash you need to pledge though...

Could you find out please. Maybe.

Down in London for a couple of days. Got up early this morning, cycled 5K to Hyde Park. Ran 5K round the Serpentine. Cycled 7K to the office. Felt amazing. Have since eaten 2 days worth of food and now feeling a bit bloated.

    I haven’t pooped since Friday.

£2k apparently (which I think is standard for most charities), £96 to register.

  • 9 Jan 2024, 6:08 p.m.

Bloody el. No thanks but thanks for checking.

  • 9 Jan 2024, 6:29 p.m.

Couldn't you get sponsored by friends and family to get £2k? It doesn't sound excessive.

    I'll contribute a Shady.

That is the standard Seb Coe tax for anyone outside the M25. Seb Coe can go fuck himself.

  • 10 Jan 2024, 12:15 p.m.

    I'll chip in £12.

I've consulted tory party policy, and apparently I should be eligible to skim off a finders fee in the range of 20%. Ta!

Did first road ride since September today (well it’s been cold and I have zwift).

60 miler which I did on a heavy aluminium gravel bike with big knobbly tyres. Managed to keep up with the group who were all on lightweight carbon frames which surprised me (you might think they were being nice and slowing down for me, but you don’t know this group of people).

So anyway, I’m fitter than I thought although I now need a lie down for a long time.

An imperial century is not to be sniffed at no matter what you're riding.

  • 10 Feb 2024, 4:40 p.m.

Only a metric century this time.
Need warmer weather for long rides….!

  • 11 Feb 2024, 12:22 a.m.

Took advantage of unseasonably warm weather, 10 degrees C, to join a hastily arranged ride, rather than just spending time on Zwift this morning, started off ok, then over heated quite badly about 8 miles in, too many layers. Fortunately was able to remove and store in the back cycling pocket the layer I was able to shed, spent the next 6 miles in recovery, after which body temperature had restored to normality and the last 20 miles were so much more fun.

A move south, or buying a place further south for winters is definitely on the cards, last Sunday it was 0c when I went out, riding in such temps doesn’t compare to today.

Move out of Providence? I guess you mean physically moving rather leaving their employ. As you know I left their umbrella employ and I don't regret it for a second.

Bullshit. you can always warm up. It's hard to cool off. Even you admitted you were too warm. I like the cold. It motivates me. The warm brings out noisy mexicans and heatstroke and murder. I may have been drinking bourbon after a long week and a hard to take Forest loss. you know I am right though. Going where it's warm will cut down on your exercise and make you head towards death quicker. Embrace life. Stay in the temperate four season state. you know it's more fun. The warmer states are full of nut job hillybilly assholes. You will get stupid quickly and find yourself arguing like Russ for no reason. Probably because it's too hot to do anything else. You are a reasonable and intelligent fellow with a lousy taste in American sports (Commanders/Redskins really?) but still a decent bloke to talk to.

Dave Rave is high on drugs. Don't listen to him. He doesn't know what heat is. You do. Enjoy your Italian hideaway if you need to but heading south in American will lead to Lynchings and Trump fans. It's a lose lose proposition.
