Hey up, he stopped that one.
A stopped clock etc etc
It's Turner for me. Yes he can't control or pass, and gets caught out under pressure, or making bad decisions playing short (so don't ask him to do those things - or rather insist that he doesn't), but he can make top class saves.
Maybe we should play Mangala in goal
What's Vlach like on pens? I think I can guess.
You can't really stop someone from making bad decisions by asking them not to. You can minimise the amount he kicks it by not passing it to him and not letting him take kicks (which we have been) but the trouble is not being able to pass to your keeper becomes a real weakness when you are facing a press, and we're not great at defending anyway. Arguably Turner does more damage to our overall shape of play and the play of the team as a whole because of that, and then obviously the comical errors are quite morale sapping. Vlach isn't as awful on that front. But it's a horrible problem to have, Vlach is just so limp it's like there's something mentally wrong with him when you look at the heights he has been at. I genuinely don't get how we have ended up in such a terrible situation.
That would be a growth and learning opportunity.
Let's hope that we dick them in extra time.
Sure, you can.
I'm going to take a wild guess that he just stands behind his line and doesn't move.
Turner has actually got a good record on pens I think. And it doesn't involve kicking or complex decision making. Maybe we will see a sub.
You weren't wrong.
Montiel to miss the final penalty then.
Here's something about how remarkable Mr Turner is at saving penalties. Presumably this is one reason why someone thought he was worth £10m.
Still invisible? Hard to be an invisible goalkeeper in a shootout, but if it can be done, our Vlach is the man to do it.
Never thought I'd see a pairing of Worrall and McKenna again.
Ooh. Are we going to be on the right end of a 3-2 for a change?
