Was precisely my view. Wondering quite early on why I was even bothering watching it, but I had the house to myself for once and there was nothing else on. Awful fare.
No. But it does have a bearing on which league places get Europa league/conference places. If a team in the top 5 wins it, 6th and 7th get the EL, if, say, Spurs won the cup only 6th gets EL.
What if the team who finish sixth win the FA Cup? And is there a place for League Cup winners?
Did some research. League Cup winners go into the Europa Conference League. Which isn't the Europa League. Newkie Brown v Liverpoo in that final, so 8th could get into Europe (I think there are two Europa places, and will be 5 European Cup places).
They go into the Europa League anyway, so it becomes moot.
Europa conference, unless they've qualified for one of the "better" competitions through the league. So Newcastle v Liverpool us a good final for us as, unless Newcastle collapse, it means 7th or 8th (depending on fa cup winner) gets into Europe.
