If CHO is injured looks something like:

    Turner / Vlach
    Montiel Omobamidele Murillo Tavares
    Kouyate Danilo
    Williams MGW Elanga
    Awoniyi

Turner/Vlach, Hennessey, Shelvey, Laryea, Niakhate, Felipe, Toff, Ui-Jo, AN Other

That's what I'd settled on eventually. Glad wasn't just me.

So seriously, if we assume T, Elanga and CHO will at best be on bench what does the team look like?

Is Sels not allowed to play against Bristol? I see he can't sorry

U21s play Newcastle tonight, so will be interesting to see if anyone is left out of that side who might step up Wednesday.

Kouyate isn't back is he due to his dad's death?

And can't see/wouldn't want to see T and Elanga starting 3 games in a week as they come back from injury.

Hwang is injured, isn't he? Also not sure what the situation is for him and Laryea in terms of whether playing for us would limit our options to get rid.

    Bit light on keepers Steve.

Laryea and Ui-Jo are part of our squad? Or are cup games different??

I'd get Niakhte in myself. Rest one of the centre backs. Toff also. I might even start Ui-Jo and rest Awoniyi - if he gets injured we're in a state.

Doesn't really matter as we can reconfigure the squad after the window and we have the spaces now. Assuming Worrall's gone, we can register all five goalkeepers and Laryea and Hwang - Reyna is "under 21", so doesn't count.

It's almost like our recruitment has not been very well thought-out.

I just lobbed them in because with all the outgoings there is now space for these forgotten folk.

The squad could now break down as:

    The 25:
Sels, Turner, Vlachodimos, Hennessey, Montiel, Aina, Williams, Laryea, Tavares, Toffolo, Niakhate, Boly, Felipe, Worrall (for now), Sangare, Danilo, Domingues, Kouyate, Yates, MGW, CHO, Awoniyi, Wood, Origi, Ui-Jo

    Under 21:
    Murillo, Omobamidele, Elanga, Reyna, Ribeiro

    Out on loan:
Richards, McKenna, Mbe Soh, Panzo, Mangala, O'Brien, Shelvey, Aguilera, Bowler, Mighten, Dennis

    Others:
    Shelvey (G), Arter

Of course, soon Worrall will presumably move to loans and one of Shelvey or Arter can come into the squad!

I vote Shelvey. We don't want to be short of goalkeepers

It hasn't but this is a very specific problem caused by three players being ineligible because of competition rules, three others missing because of AFCON and two being suspended. The manager wants a smaller squad, so that everyone feels like they are close to the team, which is fair enough but this can happen as a result.

If no-one else breaks, the squad will look much better on Saturday and pretty strong the following Saturday.

Doesn't look like it'll sell out. Hopefully that'll mean parking is a bit easier.

On the other hand, getting in to the ground will be mental, as it always is with cup matches.

Had completely forgotten about him. To think that Reading fan got hammered the summer he signed by saying he'd heard the player had broken his leg.

Feel very sorry for the bloke. Signed in summer 2022 for £8.5m - zero appearances for Forest, three for Olympiacos and one for Olympiacos B.
