5 goals 9 assists is not bad for someone with terrible end product though, which presumably why Newcastle want him. If he can improve that even a little we will have some player.

Apparently UEFA is reviewing its choice of ref for Wednesday.
I suppose because of all this DISCOURSE I’m trying to pay attention to what he does when he’s on screen. So yeah.. I wanna know what counts as pressure here. Because what I see him do frequently is jog towards a defender looking very much like someone with no interest in achieving anything. Not once has it looked like the player in possession felt under any pressure… almost like they know he doesn’t really mean it.
So rather than counting how many times he’s apparently put someone under pressure, can someone count the number of attacking opportunities that have come from opposition players making mistakes… that, one assumes, being the objective here.
It's not just a question of forcing mistakes. You can also be pressing to a plan. Like cutting off play central, and forcing them to move the ball wide (or vice versa) or forcing play onto a pressing trap.
I see no signs of that. Being in the region of, while the player on the ball does whatever they want, is achieving nothing. Apart from bad stats padding. Worse than that there is a player easily isolated out of the game, and occupying none of the opposition. So your other nine are going to have to work an additional .11 recurring harder.
Doing what he's doing, he could play until he's my age. If you count it as playing.
Quite amusing that people who constantly drone on about southgate being reactive, and not making changes early enough, are also saying that Kane has been completely gash, but that you can't drop him.
Without a scintilla of self awareness or even noticing the irony.
But think of all the stats and individual records...
I agree ... But if I was a Dutch player I'd be delighted to find Kane wasn't in the starting line-up. It's real cocks on the block stuff.
A couple of points (again made generally).
Southgate's flaw is not getting the best out of his players, including Kane. With Kane you play people who can run off and beyond him, like Muisala Coman and Gnabry etc at Bayern, or Son/Alli at Spurs. We have (plenty of) players who can do that, but they're either not being played or not being played in that way. When Kane has been at his best for England it has been when players like Sterling, Sancho, Rashford etc have been doing that and it's worked very well.
But even without that, if you're any team in the world, you don't want a guy who has scored 44 goals to line up against you because if you blink or take him for granted he only needs one moment to punish you.
Are we beating either of these two?
No probably not.
Even though they are both capable of being sloppy.
Almost hoping we lose to the Dutch so I don't have to watch us getting done without lube by Spain.
Nah. Fuck it. Stranger things have happened.
.
Yeah, 4 of them, Season 5 will be here soon.
We're probably better at keeping possession and than the French are, and killing games.
It amuses me that nobody seems to be complaining about Morata for Spain, and yet he's doing pretty much the same role as Kane. The only difference is he has Williams and Lamine Yamal running beyond and around him. Same type of striker but much less good at scoring goals and he only has the same range of passing that Kane does when he dreams.
Spain look like a right bunch of diving cunts. Hope there’s a decent ref for the final and us or the Dutch hand their flailing arses to them.
Spoiler: neither of those things will happen:
They were also average second half.
