Genuine question for tricky (or anyone, really). What did Pep want with Kane? Can you see how he might have worked with him to avoid this happening at City? I doubt he was blind to the issue.

Maybe Pep would've briefed De Bruyne to kick Kane back up front if he strayed.

Shitty have evolved to play with a goal hanger, and that would have been how pep used him. He certainly wouldn't have let him get in the way at no. 10.
But mostly he was hoping that his 'interest' would get manure to blow a few years budget on him and hold them back for a few more years.
