Probably the best moment for the Scotch was the manager ranting at the set piece coach. "What are we dicking about at? Get it in the fucking mixer!". I like to think.

    Scotland were totally inept.
I thought it was thoroughly enjoyable.

McKenna by far the best player on the field. Fantastic goal. Showed great bravery. He must be worth a bob or two….

Incidentally the referee consultant in this game was one Mark Clattenburg and I didn’t disagree with anything he said which is odd considering the PGML seemed to think he was a tosser. I thought absolute penalty for the assault on Gundogan and to be fair he came on and said VAR should totally flag that and send the player off. Which happened. Scotty McKenna would have flattened the German but fairly because he is tough as Iron Bru…

Anyway, Scotland were rancid and Germany were very good. That Nagelsman is definitely the kind of manager I would want at Forest and before you ask I have wanted that for years but he wasn’t ready for the premier league because he is a nice boy. Let’s get him before Scum Utd or Liverpoo (after realizing Arnie Slot is a stupid name) or scarier still Citeh replace Pep with him.

Having said that he will beat Inger-land only to be shit housed by the Italians.

Just realised Freuler is playing. Taken me about as long as when he played for us.

He looks very good. Neat, tidy, good in possession, excellent positionally. A very good Serie A, international footballer. Just not dynamic/passionate enough for English football fans.

Also was good in first half when Swiss had lots of possession

Not so much in second half when Hungary had the ball a lot more.

The attacker encroached, but wasn't the goalkeeper off his line? Shouldn't the penalty have been retaken ?

Christian Eriksen scoring Denmark's first goal of the tournament after what happened in their opening match four years ago is some Roy Of The Rovers stuff.

Serbia are a bunch of big lads who you'd happily go into war with. Having had a generation off, they are primed and about ready.

It's tempting to take for granted how well England generally despatch teams. .... but I expect this to be far from trivial.

Or alternatively just take the Brian Clough approach; we’ll play our game and let them worry about us.
We’re better than them all over the pitch and should win this at a canter if we don’t tie ourselves in knots tactically.

Cobblers. While cloughie was trotting out that old toss, the players were in training organising themselves and practicing set pieces.

Keep this lot as far from the goal as possible. They'll murder us on crosses in the box. We need to have worked on that.

I’m not saying go and run around like school kids without any knowledge of the opposition but fuck me, they’re not Germany or France. They’ll be worried about playing us.

When we play Man City, I’m sure Pep spends time working on exploiting our weaknesses and countering our strengths. And the difference between us and Man City is probably pretty similar to England and Serbia.

Sure, play high and get on the ball, and we should be fine. We just can't afford to drop and let them put crosses in.

High line, early high press needed.

This is one of those circumstances where I don't fancy Kane. He's garbage on the press, and let's face it he's not getting across the front post against these giants. Let's hope he gets the second phase back post opportunities (likely with foden and Bellingham breaking and shooting - particularly from the left side. Kane likes to right side back post lurk). Generally I'd prefer a bit of beat up the centre halves though.
