    There's a captain missing and there's a Yates missing.

Fucking shit. Turgid, tedious, timid. Terrible.

We're shit and we won the group.

Unlike France, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium probably.

We've conceded 1 goal in 3, despite people being worried about our defence.

We have a bunch of players under 22 who look like they may add a bit of energy and class.

Dead-legs is starting to run channels and play killer balls from deep.

Midfield is sorted. Next need to sort left back.

Bellingham was poor and looking knackered. Still desperate for a left back. No idea why Watkins (or even Toney) didn't get 30 mins.

Liverpool and Arsenal are way more entertaining and imaginative trying to get through than England are.

    It was that.

Agree with the first two, but I think we all know why Watkins didn't get a game - we don't play two up front.

Watkins is a total fits and bursts player and not good enough.

When GS had Maguire, you could see there was a plan. Set piece mayhem, and Kane getting the second phase finishes.

Give Gareth a squad of footballers, without a lampost, and there's no obvious sign of a plan, or joined up thinking that might converge on one.

.... and no recognition that in the summer, Harry Kane's legs. Are dead.

Have been having a drink every time the Australian starts a sentence with 'look'. Should really be shit faced.

Most of those teams have been together for years and train together 9 months of the year. It makes a difference.

It does, and it goes some way towards explaining why Gareth plays structured, and prioritises solidity. You can be in the shit in tournament football if you concede. It's a legitimate choice.

On the other hand we have the players to play differently, you can be equally solid playing high and pressing with players who run forward, create space for others, and players who can hit then. It doesn't need a lot of adjustment for players who play that way at club level. They won't be as good - top international teams are not as good as top club sides - but nor will they have an inbuilt glass ceiling if it clicks.

There's no excuse for playing structured and safe and having no plan. These are not people who have never seen each other before. They've been on holiday together for weeks.

Whatever mate. It looks like Keane, Neville, Ange, Wright and Southgate all think exactly the same based on what they've said after the match so they must in on it too.

That Cole Palmer is quite good so there is that...

Certainly he could be either the best English Palmer since Carlton or the best English Cole since Cheryl.
