I don't know why they bother with laws, and VAR, and pretending that they are aiming for consistency. They should just say games are officiated "in the opinion of the referee" and leave it at that.
I doubt that decision making could be more obscure....and people would just shrug their shoulders and say "bloody ref". As it is, it's like the worlds longest running, serially shittest, game of "defend the indefensible".

One of the great joys, as a football fan, is seeing the opposition when they are losers in a final. Devastated players, dejected fans, crying supporters. Delightful. Italy and Turkey have asked UEFA to combine their bids for the 2028 Euros and instead consider them for 2032, meaning that the UK and Ireland bid is the only one entered for 2028. So I presume we're getting it.
