On the evidence of tonights game, England U21's are playing very similarly to the senior side. Crap.

I wish they'd get knocked out asap so that Anderson can have a rest.
England under 19s shipped another 4 against the Netherlands last night.
I was just going to say that england U21's starting positions are wrong, the distances are wrong, they aren't getting back in time, and as a consequence are getting run through.
Anyway, before I could they've conceded a penalty.
Inexplicably VAR'd off. We must have the fix in.
And England take the lead. You wouldn't say it was a classic goal.
...and england score from a corner - defended IFC style.
The standard is surprisingly poor.
Sunday league goalkeeping for a second.
Is Elliott on the right wing or is it a bit more fluid than that?
Largely. 4-4-2 without the ball. Centre Forward going long in possession, one dropping off to make a five, and then the wide players having some flexibility, with the wing halves holding (or overlapping) if the wingers stay/underlap).
Anderson really is a cut above at this level. Particularly coming on late.
Didn't watch, but 3-1 at any level v Spain sounds like a hell of a result.
I'm assuming that if MGW leaves this summer, Anderson takes over as our main man next season.
I'm not convinced he's a 10 but worth a go pre season perhaps. We do need an option for MGW as he can go missing.
There's a few little bits that Anderson does that reminds me of Gazza at times, and I don't mean the accent.
He was excellent v Spain. It was a complete contrast from his performance (like many of the team) against Germany, where he looked miles off it, as if the long season had massively caught up with him.
Can only think being dropped inspired him (or just having a rest and coming on for the last half an hour meant he could go full tilt for a shorter period against tiring opposition).
