It's also plausible that he's the kind of player who can only flourish in a Pep-type system. England's midfield lacks the control and fluidity seen at City and is always likely to as it takes a group of players who train together day in, day out to play that way usually. Without a midfield capable of dominating possession and progressing the ball as effectively, he can't do the quick combinations, off-ball movement etc that he is good at, and it may be he is not good enough to adapt to play any other way. A one trick pony if you will.

I don't know if anyone picked up on the Ireland manager saying that he was "lost for words", and then going on to say quite a lot. Thereby demonstrating that he doesn't understand words.

An example of the difference between speaking figuratively and speaking literally, literally. Algorithm may not compute nuance.

So Murillo didn't get on the pitch for Brazil, which is a shame for him but probably makes it more likely we can keep him until the end of the season.

Foden is a 10 who isnt usually picked at 10 for England. He plays exceptionally well with City for the aforementioned reason that he plays with a bunch of other 10s who know exactly what the movement of the others will be. I would say play Bellingham at 8 and Foden at 10 but I think Palmer might have just taken that position. But then again, competition is nice.

Foden at 10 for me. He has the perfect range of attributes, for that position....if the movement around him is correct. I make you right about Bellingham as an 8. That means Palmer takes the right side slot, where I personally prefer him. The bonus of this is that it frees up Saka for the troublesome left wing-back role.

It's Saka as the right sided forward for me. Find a proper right back. He's great at it for Arsenal and better at it than Palmer. Who is still great but will cut inside more than Saka does. And I like Gordon on the left. He's not just pace but he is very fucking fast.

    Left back.

I'm playing Grealish/Gordon/Sterling* ahead of him.

    * Who is also pencilled in as cover for 9, and 3.

Serbia, Albania, Latvia and Andorra in the WC qualifying group. Not the sexiest of draws.

Well, Serbia v Albania is a bit tasty and Milenkovic gets to play at Wembley, which is nice.
