I think I preferred beating shit teams and losing to good teams versus losing to everyone.

Didn't watch game but in the starting line up, who played centre forward?

100% Kane would have scored at least a goal tonight.

Not a great result for MGW as I can't help but feel his destiny as an England player may be tied with Carsley's, at least in the near term.

100% he wasn't fit to play, and that's a garbage opinion. The problem with England tonight was that they were shit with and without the ball, and had no plan beyond bung a load of good players on the pitch and hope for the best. Which on a management level, from a good coach with no elite senior level experience, was complete pants.

Wood scored and Stamenic is playing as NZ put Tahiti to the sword. 3-0. An actual place at the World Cup is up for grabs for Oceania this time around.

Stamenic starts and Wood comes off the bench in the Mangetout Derby (Mme Mangetout is from Sabah). Mangetout Jr has picked NZ as his team of the 2, although he prefers Greece because of Percy Jackson

That's good, he knows how to win things with Kane in the team. Oh wait.

Pep is certainly interested. Question is whether he can be afforded and timing. In particular when he will leave City - which might depend on further progress of their regulatory issues - and whether he wants a break.

    Not pep then.

Personally I don't think this fits. He is a stress-pot and I don't think he'll handle the pressure well. His greatest achievement is fluking the champions league with Chelsea, and winning the crap French league with a massive budget. He plays boring football. And he's a twat.

He's a much better coach and tactician than Southgate, but with Southgate expectations were low as he was already a national loser and he traded on that very effectively. Tuchel will be crucified from the get-go.

I'm also not convinced he is a good fit for the kind of squad we have.

I liked Southgate. He fostered team spirit. The players liked playing for him. He was always pragmatic. He did fine. English fans are mental. We have very good players and I was disappointed like everyone else when we lost to the Spanish but they were the best team of the tournament so hey ho.

Tuchel is a fine manager and not a twat at all. He is on the spectrum (so Tricky should love him), but German (so Tricky doesn't love him - bloody xenophobe..) So the press will have a field day because we are morbidly anti anything that is not British. I suspect only an English manager will do for the national team because of pride. Blah blah blah. It probably won't work but it's an interesting appointment. I don't expect the results to change much. We will do well nut not win. Tuchel will no doubt get the blame and will be replaced with Eddie Howe.

Chicago: Not that bothered by nonsense.
