You definitely missed the most encouraging bit - we looked decent in the first half hour.
Some of the commentary is baffling though. Paul Robinson (ex-Leeds, Spurs and England GK, not the character from Neighbours) thought it couldn't have gone any better. I usually quite like Robinson as a pundit but on this occasion, I think I'd rather hear from the Neighbours guy.

It was a very standard England performance. I don't think we learnt very much at all. We're flat track bullies, and don't get chance often enough to test ourselves against opposition of the highest quality. I guess the first half hour there were signs of a more attacking team that passes the ball better than we did under Southgate, but it was only a short period and against Ireland, so unknown if it's a thing that'll progress.

My concern, irrespective of how good the first forty minutes were, would be that if you play an hour with that level of disorganisation against a decent side, you'll get your arse handed to you on a plate.

Seems quite clear to me that it's normal populist division dog whistled up by the usual suspects. If you can't think of a reason why a footballer or staff legitimately doesn't want to sing a British national anthem at England football games. Events largely about playing football, rather than doing a choral audition, then you truly have had your brains boiled. There are so many levels that mark it as deeply stupid, that it's depressing to have such a low opinion of your fellow man to believe that they could fall for this bollocks.

I can't speak authoritatively on 'the news'. Because that's different things to all people, and I don't cover it all. It has been consistently pushed at me as a lead story, pretty much wherever I look. Certainly more than 'real' news, like when the tories were selling off our stuff, destroying the health service, increasing malnutrition rates, writing contracts to their mates on highly preferential terms, or the shadowy funding they receive and their links to russians. So that would be 'quite a lot' in the context of 'real news'.

As for it's been pushed at you? Ok. It's not been pushed at me though. Again, I've seen it talked about a bit here, but not seen it mentioned on any of the news sites I check regularly. Maybe the algorithm thinks you're interested
Not everything is a conspiracy. My feeling is some right wing press have tried to make it a thing. But it didn't work.

I promise you that I didn't decide that I wanted to go out of my way to find reports of national anthem signing to raise a made up point in TalkBack.
Unlike what these cunts are doing to distract attention from things like children not being able to get adequate medical care after what the Tories have done to the health service. In my view.

I'm going to object to that characterisation.
It's a perfectly fine goal and it's well executed by the Scots, but it's really rather dependent upon the Portugal defence playing statues.

All goals don't happen if people are stood somewhere else, or moving differently.
