Most importantly, Sels looked pretty good in goal.

Saw Steve Cooper was trending on twitter. Turns out lots of Wales fans want him as manager. Can't see it yet - Palace was probably his only prospect in the premier league but you'd think he'd be high on the shortlist for any championship club and he's likely to be in one by the start of next season.

I might go for Wales ahead of the championship if I was him. It's a lot lower stress and work, very low chance of short-term sacking, probably higher profile on the world stage (particularly if he can qualify for a world cup), and they have a really good young squad who should improve further over the next 2 to 3 years including some players he has worked with before. He would be a good fit, I think.

I expect Cooper's ambitions are a bit higher than wanting a low stress, low effort job. Page has taken Wales to the knockout stages of the 2020 Euros and the group stages of the 2022 world cup - that's totally unprecedented for them (albeit with more teams qualifying nowadays) and he wouldn't be on the radar of a top half championship club. It's a dead end.

That's true, but he has no track record at all in club management beforehand so nobody is going to give him a big club job. Cooper has a great track record in both competitive youth football and club football. If he did well with Wales he'd certainly maintain his reputation. If he goes to the championship it could all go a bit Dean Smith. If I was him I'd be thinking of club jobs abroad too. Germany might suit him.

Cole Palmer out of the England squad puts Morgan one step nearer to at least one cap.

Yeah I think he'll definitely get a cap. Even if off the bench.

Scotland come back from 2 down at home to Poland to tie it 2-2, then concede a stupid penalty (their second of the game) in the 6th minute of stoppage time and lose 3-2.

Morgan seems to be doing a fair amount of press for England. Don't think there's much doubt he's going to get on the pitch.
