Jesus in the Brazil squad.
Jesus in the Brazil squad.
Appears I missed John Victor also getting called up to the Brazil squad.
I see that our national team führer has turned us from one of the favourites to 'underdogs'....and is now saying that unless we come together as a team (the thing that we already were), we have no chance.
I understand it's just talk... but you might remember that I was always concerned that a perceived improvement in the timing of substitutions in the final might not be a factor if we were less likely to get to one.
And even if 'we' did win, it's would just be another German win.
Anyway, string up the bunting, get behind being proud about your country (babelfish: shut up, stop thinking, keep paying), while the people who are telling you to do that dismantle everything that it was that made you actually proud.
I hear that there are more moves afoot from FIFA to fuck up club football, and make international competitions more petrostate friendly.
Plenty of forest connections tonight - Ando, neco, brennan, djed, darlow, + MGW on the bench
Neco gets another yellow for tackling a Newcastle player who throws themself to the ground
Given I have been very vocal about wanting Tuchel out from the moment he started the job, I think it's only fair I now temper that, by saying I'm liking that he's refusing to just pick all the big names and try to figure it out from that point forward. He's actually going with the players who seem to play well together. It's refreshing.
I only saw the second half, but I'm not ready to change my mind on him because he managed to thump Wales in a friendly. And tbh, even if he produces champagne football it won't change the fact that it's fucking offensive having a German in charge of the national team. He isn't eligible to play for it, and he shouldn't be eligible to manage it.
I don't really find much at fault with this opinion. Though if we were to actually win something I might just about accept him. Temporarily.
I agree with Russ. Fuck. Except:
He wont. He's a coach. Not eligible to play.
Tell them where to stand, tell them how to move. The rest of it is down to the players, champagne or shit.
There's so little scope for doing much to ruin the concept of international football, but the FA(c up), that is english football governance, will find whatever way it can. I suppose the only real argument for Mein fuhrer is that at least he's more directly related to our royal family than we are. probably.
Cape Verde qualified for the WC with their win over Eswatini, which serves as a full vindication of FIFA's decision to expand the tournament to 48 teams.
Ryan Mendes and Nuno Da Costa ftw?
And yes, I had to remind myself that Eswatini was Swaziland.
There's no reminding for me, had no clue.
Imperialists, the lorrayer.
On the subject of FIFA, wasn’t it reassuring to see Infantino* in Egypt at the peace summit? I was worried about a long lasting settlement until he showed up.
*seriously, has he ever said or done anything that makes him look less of a cunt?
He did stand next to Trump, although he also then let him keep the World Club Cup.
