Allegedly the Dutch national men's team are interested in Sarina Wiegman as their next coach. I can't see any problems there, what with their famously relaxed, easygoing and welcoming national setup.
Well knock me down with a fucking feather. It's reaching the point where I've nearly played enough top flight games recently to get in an England squad.
How much cover do we need for kane (who always plays 90 minutes)? Do we need six midfielders for two positions?
Maguire and Phillips should be nowhere near that squad. Their positions don't need replacing in that squad. Raheem Sterling has a better track record and current form than arguably every squad member.
You could drop anyone for Sterling, but I can see the value of all of the forwards selected.
I agree on Maguire, although my personal blind spot for Phillips would have me disagree with you there. As a point of principle I wouldn't be selecting Henderson.
Now it's been picked it's fine. ... but I bet asked beforehand almost nobody would have picked that as the best available squad for England. Apart from the one man.
I don't think Hendersons there for the playing, more for the off field leadership. And I'm not sure there is a senior central defender pushing hard to displace Maguire right now
