Didn’t Walker start as a CH? Or am I making that up? Maybe the right side of a back 3?

He's played there. Nobody has picked him there as consistently as I would have done.
There isn't much of him left. His legs should just about make the next tournament as a CH.
Don't drop the ball on this Fritz.
Pretty sure he exclusively played full back at Sheff U and Spurs. Southgate definitely played him on the right of a back 3 a fair amount. City’s formations are weird but he’s tended to be one of the defenders that they leave defending because he’s quick, so good to have covering and not good enough on the ball to invert.
Cole Palmer not in the Chelsea squad today. Tuchel on the phone to Morgan?
No. Peter Beardsley probably still ahead of him in the Kraut's pecking order.
Apparently so.
Yep, just confirmed on Five Live that Morgan's in the squad.
It's interesting that he's become the Jack Grealish figure that everyone wants to see in the team/ squad.
It's pretty simple isn't it? He's head and shoulders the best English creative eight/ten on current form.

The team in 3rd in the Prem on merit is built partly to maximise the impact of a young English central midfielder. Not controversial.

The best one playing in England, maybe. Jude Bellingham is pretty special and he's a better goalscorer than Morgan. I'm not for a moment saying that Morgan doesn't belong in the squad but I don't know if he's "head and shoulders the best" right now.
Different type of player. Bellingham is more a Bryan Robson driving with the ball type, MGW moves it quickly. I fancy them both as a pair ahead of a single pivot. You know, how MGW has largely been playing recently with great success.
Let's say you put Bellingham ahead of him. Do you also put out of form Foden and Palmer in, and exclude him?

You're forgetting the vital pick of who plays CF to bring the best out of either player.

Or is that just bollocks Les?
My old uni flatmate who works at the FA has sorted me a couple of tickets for the Latvia game on Monday evening, so really hoping Morgan might get the nod for that one from the start.
Will have a few hours to kill pre-match in central London with the old man. Any recommendations of decent places to visit off the beaten track? My mate's suggested Coal Drops Yard behind King's Cross which he says is decent for food and drink.
