On seeing the team sheets my advice to the England side would have been shoot early, shoot often, shoot on sight. One off the woodwork and the keeper would definitely have been on the table.

That's a UK based multi-industry sector recruitment firm isn't it?

    Kudos to them.

I think you are overstating their achievement. Even Chris Wood struggles to cover all eleven positions at his age.

Sad times that Morgan isn't starting, thought he might.

Has there ever been a more useless duo than Matterface and Dixon?

    From the Beeb feed:
“Harry Kane needs to be taken off at half-time. He hasn't got the legs to run and is hampering any good play we do make. Hopefully, Thomas Tuchel will pick up on the differences between Kane and Watkins and drop Kane for good.

He's not international class at the bits of football apart from kicking the ball towards the net. Not good back to goal, can't run the channels, gets run over in possession. This is not news.

    Paul, cotgrave.

Apparently England “need to find a way” which is spectacular insight.

Let start by not having three random number generations (Gallagher, Madueke and Livramento) playing down the right and getting in each others way as the ball bounces off them. Go back to not starting Kane who has not appeared in the Ireland six yard box at any point and has struggled to make a run or keep up with a break.

Gallagher's off the ball covering movement, offering to give and go, and closing the ball, has been excellent. Madueke has tried stuff, and mostly given it away but has been okay. I play with players who can kick the ball better than Livramento.

It's amazing to me that Kane still gets a game. How bad, for how long, does he have to be before someone finally has the balls to say 'fuck that for a game of soldiers'.

I nearly posted that he did something good, before he put in the excellent ball for Bellingham. Of course it would be unlikely to have a professional on the pitch and them not do the odd good thing. The point is that someone else could do more.

And Livramento gets a cross into the box for second. Albeit not a good kick.

Quite. Although I suspect Bellingham would have bundled it in if Gallagher missed. Did you enjoy his attempted rabona?

His successful rabona, I think you mean. Where the ball goes, who cares?
