Morgan seems to be doing a fair amount of press for England. Don't think there's much doubt he's going to get on the pitch.

England put up the manager and one or two players every day. He was just nominated (presumably as a new guy and someone who knows Lee Carsley better than most in the squad), so he did a press conf and a round of interviews in a couple of hours.

Sure but if he was just there for the experience and to see whether he fitted in, I don't think they'd have put him up for interviews.

I enjoyed him talking about how good a manager Carsley is. Vested interest much!

I don't think there's any doubt he's going to feature at some point - whether he'll make future squads when Foden/Bellingham etc are fit again is another question.
But it's not the first time someone new to the squad/a fringe player has been put up for the media (it may even have been the England pack of journalists requested him, given his knowledge of Carsley, which has been a feature of a number of the interviews).

    Makes sense all round.

Gibbs-White is a bright, positive, cheerful subject for interview. He's not very well known, but casual football fans will have seen more of him than Carsley.

Gibbs-White is a great ambassador for "the next generation". He won stuff at youth level. He sells in Carsley. Wins all round

The more I see Brennan Johnson play, the more I realise what a good piece of business it was selling him for as much as we did. He's obviously a super player, but he really needs to be used in quite a specific way - something Cooper did, and Ange has a bit, but Bellamy is really struggling to. A conventional winger Brennan is not.

There's a bit of the meatfly about him.

Yeah, I can see that. Meatfly didn't have Brennan's top speed and he was probably a slightly better crosser, but Brennan has never had a Nigel to cut the ball back to.

If it's right that we took took a flat 45 million, rather than relying on add ons and possibles then we did really well. He looks like he's peaked.

To be honest I'm surprised he's played for hotspurts as much as he has. He's a good player, quick, can create.....but at the highest level they generally look for more physicality in the modern game. We got a good price for him, no doubt in my mind. Definitely no criticism of that piece of business. Genuinely hope that he does better than I expect, and that contract is a good one.

I see in the run up to a new england managers first game the debate that is dominating the narrative is that the manager wont be singing the national anthem.

What a fucking pathetic, weird, maladjusted, no mark, little country.

    My sentiments exactly.
I’ve never been able to work out why this kind of thing bothers people so much.
I hope he sticks to his guns.
