It aroused suspicion because the company (lakeland) placed a massive order whilst also announcing that they are selling the business. Which is an odd statement to make when throwing that much wonga around. So really we needed to know if this was legit as it is an awful lot of money to spend if a company is looking to change direction.
My wife is friends with the CEO and primary vendor of the company that recieved the order so best to do some due diligence and figured it would be good to ask me being British if I had ever heard of them which I had not.
Anyway, I said that I would ask a bunch of webmongs if they knew anything and here we are.

One tends to accumulate and validate information when making an assessment. I can validate the named business to some degree. I can't validate the contact as I don't have the data.
We are seeing a lot of scams right now that originate from a valid looking domain name and one way or another fake the website.
