Do you think it might have been a different game if Ndoye had got a free kick, the full back booked, and we score from the free kick? Football games change on the little things.
On the plus side, I don't think Morgan and Murillo will be our number one flight risks next summer. Once again Anderson was our best player by an absolute mile - not a shred of doubt in my mind that he can and would be a starting midfielder for any legitimate contender. I can not believe that Newcastle didn't have someone else they could have dumped to get PSR compliant and selling him will forever be a decision they will regret.
Understandable though...they have a mint midfield. It's hard for anyone to break into an established unit like that. Sometimes moving is the way to get your chance, and prove your point. Cole Palmer.
So farewell then, Emirates.
For a season, at least.
Unless we draw you
in one of the cups.
Keith's Mum says she has been practising defending
'cos if Ange can mange then who knows?'
I don't think shes got that
quite right. And I will have to sit her down
and explain registration deadlines
with a lucozade sport.
D N Rave - 17 and 3/4 the last time we won at Arsenal.
On the bright side we learnt from having no one on the edge of the box for the 1st goal with about 4 of them rushing out to Rice. Just a shame he had an easy pass to the unmarked Trossard, who in turn had all the time to cross to the undermanned back post.
I also wonder how much of our 0.22 xG was accounted for by Wood's right tit deflecting a cross onto the bar.
This is surely the last season, or maybe even last three months, we get to enjoy watching Anderson play in a Forest shirt.
Head and shoulders above the rest of his teammates - Gibbs-White included at present. Levels above some of them. His progress since he arrived a little over a year ago is incredible.
Yes, but they're going to lose Guehi for nothing, and Wharton is still very young (15 months younger than Anderson) and not as ready to step straight into a top 6 side.
I'm also not sure that Palace is a good model for any club to follow.
Until a couple of weeks ago, Wharton was ahead of Anderson. He’s struggled with injury which may turn out to be a bigger problem and would probably have started these last two England games if he was fit.
If Spurs had come in with a real offer, say 80M, then yes.
I can only imagine Ange wanted to make as few changes as possible, which is why Sangare got the nod for presumably the last time in a while.
No to the first. It is all of 3 games ago that he was excellent against Brentford, FFS, and he will come again.
I don't disagree that competition from McAtee won't do MGW any harm, and a period of not being an automatic starter every game (which no-one will be, given rotation & 2 games per week, every week) could be a very good thing for him... but fuck me we're quick to write players off as a fan base.
Go back a year - less, actually - and there were people seriously calling for Elanga to be dropped in favour of Jota Silva... and also describing Morato as a cheat code, given that he'd come in in a number of tight games and helped see them out. How did those two snap judgements turn out in the end?
Now those same people are describing Elanga as "irreplaceable" (I note that he only got 10 minutes from the bench for the Barcodes today...) and Morato as a total lilablility.
Football fans. Almost entirely unacquainted with nuance, and particularly so in the aftermath of a defeat.
