Oh boy. Is this because you eschew books that only have pictures?
I'm getting back into reading fiction for the first time in several years, I've just started in on Mistborn after having it recommended by a few people. So far I'm really enjoying it.
The Brandon Sanderson series? They are very good, I think they get even better after the first trilogy when he moves on to a sort of wild west fantasy world.
Brandon Sanderson is so popular he set off a bunch of fraud triggers on his recent Kickstarter.
Enjoyed Bob Mortimers debut, The Satsuma Complex. Looking forward to reading his second.

I have just finished reading Gideon by Russell Andrews. It's a thriller from 1999 that just happened to be gathering dust in my library when my mother on her visit picked it out for me to read. It was totally pulpy and rollicking good fun. A Metaphor for Media Companies having too much power and influence wrapped up in a political thriller. Complete nonsense and I enjoyed it greatly.
I am trying to diversify and read lots of different genres and am now picking up "Born A Crime", the Trevor Noah biography. Should be an interesting read.

So I have finished Trevor Noah's book and am about to embark on Say Nothing. I know Karl Mark has read it and highly recommended it but should I read the book first and then watch the Television series or vice versa? Anybody have some views on that as I am more inclined to wait on the telly and read first.

Book first. Adaptations are always different, but often provide more closure. I watched The Night Manager on TV before reading the book; very different endings, but then Le Carre likes to end his books with a lot of things unresolved.
Currently reading The Odessa File. Haven't seen the movie, so will give it a go once I've finished the book.
Read loads recently, notably:
Butter, by a Japanese person (can’t recall the name) and translated into English. Massively overhyped and overwritten in my view, but it’s very popular elsewhere.
The Full English. A tour of England by Stuart Maconie, retracing the steps of JB Priestley. Really well written and perceptive insight into England today.
I'm into the final chapter of Walk The Lines by Mark Mason, which I've really enjoyed. Won't be everyone's cup of tea but it's the tale of a fella who, around 15 years ago, undertook to walk the entire London Underground network, station to station but above ground.
I love London and enjoy riding the tube whenever I'm there, so it's my sort of book. Lots of interesting observations and facts en route, plus it's easy to picture the areas he's describing if you know London reasonably well.
I’ve really struggled with reading the last couple of years. I did however finally get around to Revelator by Daryl Gregory which I bought because the hardback cover is by a dearly departed friend of mine.
Religious horror novel (although it takes a long time to get to the truly horrific) set in Moonshine country in Tennessee. Thoroughly enjoyed it, although not sure what to think about the ending. And reading the mention of my friend in the end notes was bittersweet.Niche.
Could your struggle with reading lately be down to the unavailability of literature in your chosen genre?Well it is Florida and they do like to burn books down there....

The Exorcist is niche now? Which part of “my dead friend designed the cover” did you miss? Genuinely the entire reason I bought the book in the first place.
I’d say my phone and an inability to maintain focus on almost anything is the main reason.We can still get Amazon delivered. And, as I tire of mentioning, I live in a (mostly) enlightened bit.
