Widely reported now that Cooper has gone. Hope he gets the chance to put out a statement, assuming he wants to.

Not how it works...severance agreements almost always include restrictions on statements and NDA's covering specific topics.

...and lets face it, it would be completely unhelpful. Absolutely no point perpetuating any good feeling for someone no longer employed by the club. Clubs want rid. They want to hear nothing more about them...and they hope that all former managers are a miserable failure that sink without trace and don't make them look bad. If this is in fact the case you need to move on, as mandated by your entertainment overlords. You had a Cooper. Once you have them no more, it's done. Nothing the other side. There is new stuff to sell you, there will be no obsolete product brand maintenance.

Nuno gone in March with Forest in bottom three then? Couple of years as a yo-yo club then settle back into Championship mediocrity a la Watford.
Forest fanbase returns to its fickle infighting and all the good work over the last two years undone by a narcissistic owner and some vocal tw@ts on social media. Sad day all round.

I imagine he'll be under an NDA as part of his payoff.

I'm sure he will be but a basic "thanks to the fans, we had a great ride, sorry it's ended" (only put much better than that), is unlikely to be forbidden.

'It is understood Steve Cooper has now been told of his dismissal as Nottingham Forest manager'.

    So says BBC Sport.

Everyone is just repeating David Ornstein's tweet at this moment. But the lack of denial from anyone else is telling.

Going to be a toxic atmosphere on Saturday by half time I reckon. 3-0 down by then as players can't be arsed.

Not sure about the second sentence there. Presumably Reid will be in charge as I'm guessing Tate will go with Cooper, but there will be plenty of players who will see this as an opportunity to impress the new manager - I think that's pretty normal whenever there's a change of leadership.

I don't see the atmosphere being toxic until we go behind, then it'll be pretty shitty.

Complete bag of fucking shite. Crystal Palace will snap Cooper up as soon as they can and I wish him the absolute best with them.

I can understand ( not necessarily agree with) the reasons for his dismissal but the choice of his replacement is horrendous.

I was talking to a Palace fan last week and he doesn't think they'll have any interest, the expectation for a while has been that the current assistant manager is the heir apparent.
