Gibbs White had an excellent 20 minutes and then became the no simple stuff guy again. Anderson was excellent. Took a twatting from the spuds but stood up to it. Yet again Toffolo is a good left back. An that save of the month from Sels.

I wonder if we didn't have a semi final, would we have had quite that line up. Felt like minutes were being managed.

Agreed. And I'm fine with that, we all want the Champions League but the opportunity to win our first silverware since forever is too important IMO. I'd take finishing 7th and winning the Cup over finishing 3rd and losing on Sunday.

Well that was bloody nervy. We literally let Spuds have the ball and almost cocked it up at the end. Sels was great and Toffs what a clearance. Sosa looked decent coming on and thought it was telling that he came on instead of Sangare who I think is getting sold in the summer. We started well and then were quite cack. Was Elanga injured?

    Anyway, third. Not a doubt.

    Chicago: Phew.

He basically said that if his team plays like that, you can expect them to win. Which would worry me, if I was a spurts fan. I expected them to play exactly like that, and lose.

They are a great match up for us.

indeed a spurs fan sent me the following: “another schooling for us from Forest”

Sure, but winning the Champs League next year beats the FA Cup this year.

Was it? Felt pretty run of the mill to me. Maybe I have ice in my veins?

I was ok until they scored but then the league one days in me took over and I thought we were were going to fuck it. Not massively sure we needed to defend like that against Spurs for 75 mins, could have had more I feel. But it worked so what do I know.

Thought both full backs struggled a bit TBH, something like 52 crosses were put in the box. But could be how we were set up as much as anything.

Superb clearance from Toff, another worldy save from Sels and two nice goals.

I heard this but surely this needs turning around; if you are banging a cross in every 100 seconds or so and you've only scored once shouldn't someone be saying "Lads, I'm not sure crossing is our game, maybe lets try through the middle".

They sell Madri here now. One of the bars by my building sells it. I haven't tried it.

I hope you are going to have one for the semi-final. It will bring us luck.

I thought Neco was ropey last night. Not sure if it was just a poor game or that he was playing RB instead of this season's normal position at LB.

Danilo had another game where he just kept giving the ball away too. It's happening too often. Sangare just be really crap in training to not be getting a chance.

Neco looks like the kid at school who really wants to play football but knows the big boys are going to clatter him and take the piss at every opportunity.

But he can play left back. Right back not so well.

I do like Toff and will be sorry to see him leave, if that's what happens over the summer.

That is such an impressive interview - probably illustrates perfectly why Nuno & Coops kept Toff around when binning off supposedly superior players. He’ll go this Summer, but we should have nothing but respect for the guy.

Not sure he should be bragging about training effortlessly.

I don’t think he meant that. I think he meant “effortful,” which is (a) a clunky word and (b) not one that trips easily off the tongue.
