I’ll start. Just opened present from my sister. A box of fresh smoked fish from Cornwall - salmon, mackerel, mussels, trout. Looks great but it’s gone in the freezer because we’ve already planned meals for the next few days.

I have resolved to do next to nothing for Xmas. Ably supported by currently being ill.

Will just put some money in a card for my grandson, like your nan used to do in the seventies.

The only one I know so far, as it arrived unboxed, is 3 bottles of Pinot Noir from my mum, its difficult to ensure they are not all consumed by Monday.

Well. You got her a new iron last year. She needs to learn to look after stuff. You're not made of money. I'm off down the pub, coming?

    I could murder a pint.

Tbf, the kettle is a travel kettle seeing as I’ve paid for flights to NY and Orlando next year and she always moans she can’t get a good brew over there. I’m hoping the joke is well received. If not, I picked up 3 crates of lager today (no Madri) so I’ll be too well oiled to care…

Crates: 2 Budvar, 1 leffe blonde, 1 mixed belgian beers, 1 ipa.

There will be no guests this year.

I'm heading out as soon as I'm well enough for reinforcements.

Booze talk reminds me. A couple of years ago in Wetherspoons they had a cocktail that tasted like Christmas. I’ve had a Google and I need to pick up some Fireball, Disarrano, cranberry and apple juice. It really did taste like Christmas.

Take 4 slices of frozen turkey, 1 bottle of vodka, blend for 30 seconds and boom! Christmas breakfast!

    Sorry, wrong thread.

A guy I worked with introduced me to Christmas guest beer. Buying something like Fosters or John Smiths to be given to visitors you are not too keen on when they pop around.

For such resilient souls I recommend deploying the green king ipa....genuinely nothing like an ipa, disgusting, in cans, and overall unbearable.

I had a crate to get rid of and had to mix it with a lively american ipa to get it down.

I have found that, since discovering the joys of IPAs over here, they are nothing like the IPAs of England. I very much prefer the American style, although I do also very much like English bitters as well.

Back from Tesco and had a slurp. It was as Christmassy tasting as a remembered.

This reminds me, one of my beer groups posted that Aldi have Budvar mini kegs in.
I don't have an Aldo near me to check though. But it was a very good deal.

Made Japanese BBQ chicken on the griddle I received for Xmas. It was lovely. Breakfast tomorrow is very likely to be cooked on it.
